One year ago, SKIN took home the Silver Audience Award at @fantasiafestival. Today, it’s officially out in the world! 🔪✨ You can watch the full short film on Youtube via @watch_alter! Insecure about her appearance, Kanika visits a mysterious skin lightening center. This film comes from a deeply personal place exploring colorism, body horror, and the toxic pressure to lighten your skin. Seeing it out in the open on Alter means everything. The 5th annual Women in Motorsports Summit was something special. A day filled with women pushing boundaries, sharing what they know, and making space for the next generation to see just how many paths there are into this industry. Thank you @josierallies for including me, grateful to have been a part of it. BTS content by my amazing sister: @kammikphotography_

Passenger was by far one of the most challenging films to work on. Imagine shooting a movie in which it is almost all nights, no stages, and you’re out in the middle of who knows where in the middle of winter in Washington State…what could go wrong. Special thanks to @jpwetzel2 for bringing me on this film and all the leadership he gives, thanks to our team for the long hard nights and coming along for this wild ride. Really loved getting to know you crazy Washington’s! If you like horror films this is not one to miss. #passengermovie

Please enjoy the product of many late nights, much rain, much #celcius and a bit of horror. Thanks to the crew who survived. #Passenger

Rookie: The Night the Goalposts Came Down is finally out now on my YouTube🥲 Happy 2 year anniversary to my first album Rookie and I’m so happy to finally have this finished 🥳 I know a lot of you who follow me/like my music have probably never even listened to Rookie and are out on the loop on what this is, so here’s a quick recap… Rookie’s a concept album that tells the story of a fictional UL Lafayette football player - the titular Rookie - who disappears immediately following the biggest moment in his career, and has since become a mythical hero in south Louisiana. Of course, it’s really about the past, the South, loss, faith, love… and yes, football… “Rookie: The Night the Goalposts Came Down” is a show that I performed in August 2024, a half-concert half-film in which the album’s full story is told. It’s got narration, expanded songs, in-the-field footage - it’s the fullest realization of the album and its narrative and the manner in which I’ve always wanted to present the Rookie story. If you’ve never listened to Rookie or my music at all before, this is probably the best place to start, and if you’re already a fan of the album, I think this will paint a fuller picture for you and give the art a whole new resonance. I had to fight and scrap to get this together on a budget of $0 but I’m so thankful I did. This project is really my baby; I know it’s a lot to ask to tell you to watch 70 minutes of my surreal southern cosmic football concept album concert film, but it would mean the absolute world to me if you did. <3 A tremendous thank you to everyone who helped pull this together: @thefriaremma and @1endie for filming, @synthesizephobos for helping where needed and monitoring the board, @e._.v for spending a week driving around the state and filming with me, my band for trusting and believing in me, and @acadianacenterforthearts for giving me the opportunity to do this in the first place. As long as my heart’s still beating, as long as my legs are still churning, until that final whistle blows… it’s still football night in America! 🌟
