This week on Starship Edsel:

"Oops, All Ladies!" - Delivering antimatter plasma to Planet Bechdel should be routine, but when Captain Troi encourages some well-deserved downtime, the crew doesn't notice every man aboard has vanished until an Orion pirate captain calls in to gloat. With the men held hostage for ransom and the ship's women discovering just how much smoother things run without them, the crew faces an unexpected question: do they even want the guys back? As bonding turns into an all-out slumber party and one pirate starts having second thoughts about her own crew, the Edsel ladies have to decide what they're really willing to trade for peace.

This all-women episode features special guest stars
Marla Cáceres( @marlacaceres ), Julia Morales ( @callmejules ), and Daryn Robinson ( @daryn_2dream ). Cáceres co-wrote and performed in Second City's acclaimed all-women revue She the People, with credits spanning the Kennedy Center, La Jolla Playhouse, and The Onion. Jules is a Second City Mainstage veteran who serves as a Second City TourCo director and the House Teams & Specialty Programming Director at iO Theater, and she founded the nonprofit Stepping Stone Theater. This week on Starship Edsel:

"Little Mx. Starfleet" — Hoping to revive an old Federation tradition, it's proposed that Starfleet bring back the Mx. Starfleet Pageant to help unify worlds old and new. Lt. Pike reluctantly agrees to represent the Edsel, drafting Counselor J'Errrs'Q as her coordinator, while an offended Chief Engineer Buchanan von Starfleet enters on principle alone—the pageant is named for his family, after all. As buried competitive instincts resurface and rivalries spread across the ship and beyond, old wounds between Federation worlds threaten to reopen over a sash and tiara. Sometimes winning isn't everything... but try telling that to a former pageant queen.

Special guest stars Rich Alfonso and Rob Wilson, both returning to Edsel. Alfonso is a 2016 NBC/Universal Bob Curry Fellow and alumnus of The Second City National Touring Company with additional work at iO Chicago on the Harold team Duchess, the all Spanish speaking improv team Heraldo and his 2 man sketch team Suprimo. Wilson is Second City's Artistic Director of Touring and Development, whose directing credits include The SuperAfroWavyDrippyExtraBrilliantDope Show, The Dopeness, and the sold-out Dance Like There's Black People Watching.

🧪💉Introducing Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Kani Bahl Mangler, played by Lilly Bolduc, who made a splash in her debut in Season 4, Episode 5 "Inspection Day!"

Are Cardassians still fascists in the 32nd century? Is she a qualified medical professional? Does she conduct experiments on living subjects? These are all questions the Edsel crew would have preferred to have answers to prior to her being assigned as their doctor.

While the Cardassians of the 24th and 25th centuries we hardly friends of the Federation, surely that's all changed in the past 700 years... they hope.

This week on Starship Edsel:

"Inspection Day" — Tasked with the seemingly beneath-them job of transporting a mysterious sealed vessel and its dedicated keyholder, the crew's pride takes a hit when a by-the-book Starfleet inspector boards for a surprise review. As regulation violations pile up and the ship's future hangs in the balance, the crew scrambles to hide contraband, finish repairs, and win over a man who accepts nothing less than perfection. But between growing suspicions and a box marked "of great importance," nothing on this inspection may be quite what it seems.

Second City ETC alums Javid Iqbal @fakejavidiqbal and Alex Bellisle @alexbellisle guest star. Iqbal has been featured in Second City's Musical House Ensemble "Infinite Sundaes," and has performed around Chicago with Stir Friday Night. Bellisle is known for the critically acclaimed She the People at The Second City's UP Comedy Club among many other credits, including NBC's Chicago P.D.
