What an opening night! ✨

At ten past five, I was sitting with Dale thinking, “Oh God, this is so embarrassing—no one is coming.” Then, almost all at once, the room filled with people! I don’t think I’ve ever felt relief, surprise and social panic quite so simultaneously. 😂
Thank you so much to everyone who came to the opening of Confluence. I was genuinely overwhelmed—in the best possible way—by the turnout, the conversations and the kindness shown towards me and my work. I became so caught up in the evening that I completely forgot to take photos once everyone arrived!

After weeks of painting, planning and preparing, seeing the collection hanging together was incredibly special. I’m also thrilled that four paintings found new homes.
A very special thank you to Jenny, who first introduced me to Kilderkin and helped with the details; to Kilderkin Distillery for giving my work such a beautiful home; to Earl Leonard for the wonderful live music; and to Dale for helping me set up and making the frames.
Thank you also to Rachel and her mum for travelling from Geelong, Mum for travelling from Torquay, my aunt and uncle, Dale’s family, and Linda—who has always been such an enthusiastic supporter and gave one of the paintings a new home.

Holding a solo exhibition is something I’ve wanted to do for many years. I’m feeling very proud, very grateful and still slightly amazed that I finally did it.

If you couldn’t make the opening, Confluence is still on display at Kilderkin Distillery. You’re very welcome to pop in simply to see the artwork—there’s absolutely no obligation to purchase food or drinks while you’re there. 🤍

So so many songs, stories, original music, old faves, dancing, new collabs and many familiar faces.
As musicians ourselves, this cafe is for local artists and live music lovers — always has, always will.
Big love to every musician who played our room and everyone who came out to listen 🧡
