POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
@juliemichellereads tagged me to show the reads for which I consider myself #latetotheparty, so here they are:
Bolano’s 2666, which Julie kidnapped me and took me to her online book chat to read with her. My book arrived about 3 weeks after they started, and I have decided to wait until I finish my June buddy read to start it. (Anyone who has buddy-read with me knows that kidnapping me to read a book would end like The Ransom of Red Chief, so they dodged a bullet there!😅)

I am going to buddy read Miss Brodie soon with @solitaryreader06 but only after hearing it much lauded here. I can’t wait!

The Magnificent Ambersons and The Quiet American have been on my #tbr for this year because I have the movies recorded to watch. But I’m glad to set aside my personal reading goals for collective ones because I joined #bookstagram to have a reading community. ☺️

Do you have any books that are jumping off your #tbr since entering your radar?

I was tagged by @_clicking_away_ at the beginning of February for #spellthemonthinbooks challenge. I waited for a month with a shorter name. 😅 (I still had to cheat because I have no books that begin with the letter H.)

I hope March brings Spring flowers🌷
and world peace. 🕊☮️

Meet the Bookstagrammer - Part Three

It’s been six months since my last intro post - time does fly! There are some new friends here, so I thought it was time to hop on with some fun Kerry facts.

The Basics: I live in Toronto with my husband and our sweetie pup, a Lakeland terrier named Gryffin. He has his own insta because he’s cool like that (go see: @gryffgram ). I’m an elementary school teacher, and my past jobs include baker, children’s bookseller and freelance harpist.

Five Fun Facts:
.
1. I grew up on a farm north of the city. It was a hobby farm - cats and horses only! My sister and I had 100 acres to ramble around, a pond for skating on, plenty of trees to read under, and every night, so many stars in the sky… basically paradise. While I’ve come to love city life, a piece of my heart will never leave the country.
2. This year I’ve tried a bunch of new things I’ve had on my list for a while, including: Afro fusion dance, improving my French language skills, and joining a choir. It’s sometimes felt nerve-wracking to go outside of my comfort zone ( #introvert ), but at the same time I feel refreshed and more open to all of the possibilities, big and small, that are out there at the edge of our everyday routines.
3. I am a great swimmer. I’ve been a water baby all my life. I could go to the Olympics for floating.
4. In another life, fantasy jobs might include: Cirque de Soleil clown, florist or gardener, art teacher, coffee shop owner, ballet dancer.
5. While I’m mostly gluten free and low sugar these days, a girl still likes to treat herself. Faves include: flourless chocolate cake, a great cocktail (I just discovered Aperol spritzes - thanks Heather 😘@mlleboaz.bibliophile ), and iced coffee (Swipe to see me taking a well-earned hydration break. The life of a booksta-model is incredibly demanding).
.
And FYI, the books in this stack represent my picks for #tenonmy5star . I was tagged by @e.m.bennet_ last week and I decided to make all of my selections Middle Grade or YA, just for kicks. Consider yourselves tagged! While you’re here, tell me something you’d like to find the courage to try, fantasy jobs, fave treat, or something we have in common...
