W.A.T.A.N through the lens of @myf.photo What I love and find so interesting about this series is the duality of living in these moments and being present and then having them reflected back at you in such a compelling way. Thank you to @myf.photo for capturing the story. Thank you again to @ixa.bhs for holding a space for me on the stage. "Fixing your crown" "Aantii Flamingo in waiting" Final touches Captured² "We at the gate" "Fall in line" "Serve" "Through the soul" "With love" "Siister" Aan'tii "Diamonds are forever" Muum'ii Graand'mii "For Legacy"

Aan'tii for W.A.T.A.N Easily, she was the people's choice. The free spirit with a ferocious presence.Ereisha transformed my design from concept to reality and was essential in bringing aan'tii's story to the stage. Aan'tii is the embodiment of financial independence and freedom. To speak plainly, Aantii is about that cash, that bling and plenty nice tings. She is completely unburdened from the judgment of others and has mastered the art of making diamonds out of her tears. I wanted so badly to add even more sparkle to this look, I imagined a woman standing under a thousand diamond falling stars. How would tears turned into diamond behave in a garment? How would I make it rain from head to toe? How would I keep her hidden but also have her wear her heart on her sleeve? By the time of the show, I felt confident that each question was answered in the design 😏 but we'll get more into that later.

Style Diary: If we are the new adults and the new parents, the new aunties and uncles, then guess what, that makes us the new ancestors too. The way we shape our lives and move about in our homes and communities and villages will shape the future that is yet to pass. The narrative that honoring my good decent Grammy who helped to raise me and love me, and who has sacrificed so much to build a legacy of children, grand children and great grand children as something that is dark or wicked has never truly sat right with me. I am the person I am because of her wisdom, her prayers her love, and everything in between has played a part in not only who I am as an artist and a creative but who I am as a woman and the space that I hold in the lineage that she created as the matriarch. My hope with this collection was to embody the roles and space that we take up as women in our own legacy as the Graand'mii, the Muumii, the Aantii and the Siister because believe it or not we are the ancestors now. This is W.A.T.A.N, the last runway collection of KBAD Studio

@ixa.bhs and @marlene_wrldwd. Two bright and shining entities in the fashion space. When asked to join this project I looked at it as an opportunity to keep my ear to the ground. I saw the vision being crafted and fell deeper into this than expected. This venture and idea had a sort of gleam to it that you would only regret not prying into. Looking back at it, I must say this experience was an amazing one. To see so much energy capture under one venture and still flow was simply inspiring. IXA , Marlene. Continue to invoke the very same feeling again and again. Well done.
