Freshman year: ✅
Rewind to August—standing on the curb outside her dorm, hugging her goodbye through a whole lot of fear being over 500 miles from home. As we drove away, we reminded ourselves: She knows what to do. We’ve taught her well. 🙏

Fast forward to today and the end of the spring semester: We just left her endocrinology appointment and our kid rolled in with a 5.9 A1C. 🎉 Sure, there were a few frantic “Find My iPhone” moments (Sorry ‘bout that 5am wake up for ALL sleeping freshman on the 3rd floor of Johnson Hall! 😬) and a couple middle of the night texts to her roommate when lows hit hard (@e.mchristine you’re the heat!!!). Together, we made it through College and Type 1 Diabetes – Year One. 🫣

If you’re a T1D parent, you get it. The invisible weight we carry. The constant hum of the what ifs. The longing to be there—to help change a pump site when she’s late for class or slide a straw into a juice box while she sleeps. 💤🧃

We’re embracing this new co-pilot role but still watching the radar!🩸📈We’ll never stop worrying. Never stop checking. We’re just hoping to follow her Dexcom for as long as she’ll have us. 💙
