A moment for the silk chiffon ballet skirt. Sheer, ethereal, romantic…the only proper choice for Juliette’s night gown. Turns an ordinary ballet class into a dream scene. ✨

*the keen eye will notice in the group sequences, only 3 of the skirts are silk chiffon, with the other two being lightweight poly chiffon*

Hi friends! I’m changing my name…when I began as Costumes on Cambridge, I was doing a lot of theater work alongside the ballet, and being a general costume house made the most sense. For the past 3 years, I have focused solely on ballet, and as I’m stepping up my platform this year, it made sense to rebrand with the focus on tutus.

My love of the history and traditions of ballet and everything vintage has me obsessed with the black and white images. The name “Paper Moon” comes from an old song. The lyrics talk about the old vaudeville days and say, “it’s only a paper moon, sailing over a cardboard sea, but it wouldn’t be make-believe if you believed in me…” Everything that you see on stage is there to create a make-believe world, and tutus aren’t real clothes that you can wear to do your daily chores…but we all need a bit of beauty and magic in our ordinary lives, and I’m forever grateful to the people in my life who believed in me as an artist and have supported this dream of magic making.

My new website is PaperMoonTutus.com.

Thank you to these amazing photographers who have shared their photos with me, and for all the lovely dancers who bring these costumes to life! thank you also to the schools and companies and independent artists who have trusted me to make magic with them. 🤍🖤
