You’re probably shooting slower than you have to, and don’t even realize it.

This one shift will completely change your results on hops and 1,2 footwork shots ⬇️

🔑 Time up your catch: Catch the ball in the air, not on the ground

This allows you to land already in your shot, so you can smoothly transfer the momentum into your shot, and shoot faster.

To practice on your own, just spin the ball back to yourself and time up when the ball is in the air after the bounce.

🔒SAVE and apply this at your next workout

The best players do this one thing better than everybody else👇

They trick defenders with their eyes.

Here’s how you outsmart them with vision:
1️⃣ Look one way. But use the corner of your eye to watch for open window to attack.
🔑 The defender watches where you look. You watch where you’re going.

2️⃣ When you see the space, explode. It’s too late for them to recover, because they were guarding where your eyes told them you’d go.

You’ll see the game differently once you understand this. ✍️

Did you see that?

You can learn a move just by watching someone else do it.

🔑 But you have to be willing to want to learn from others, not just 100% on what you’re doing yourself.

If Ryland was in his own head about why he couldn’t, he would have missed the opportunity that ended up being the ONE THING he needed to see to get it down - watching Izzy’s rep.

Get in the gym with people who make you better, and watch their reps too.

🤝 SHARE this with a hooper to help them train better

If you freeze when defenders cut you off in transition, try this instead.

1️⃣ Bump & protect the ball on the outside of your body (especially when defenders are reaching in)
2️⃣ Euro step to space

SAVE, master this and use it to score more when you attack the basket.

The fastest players aren’t always the hardest to guard. But when they do this well, it’s gonna be a long game for their defenders.

Kacyn’s fast didn’t change. And he didn’t get any faster in our session.

🔑 His slow did.

And then everything he did looked faster.

This is a major key to how you actually break down defenders.

If you improved this one thing about how you practice your shooting, you’d improve faster in any drill that you do and see real game results ⬇️

Shoot with urgency.

Too many times players practice their shooting like every rep is wide open with unlimited time. They’re too comfortable.

Add more reps with speed. And if you have a rebounder with you, just adding a simple possibility that you might be cued to “go” is a good way to make you stay ready on every rep.

@justinfrye77 makes real progress in the gym because of his consistency, but just as important HOW he practices. 🔒📈

I’ve been in the field of development long enough to know this to be true: Most players never look past the physical.

They add more drills, more workouts, more volume. But very very few ever sit down and audit what’s going on inside the beliefs they carry, or the stories they’ve been telling themselves. And often so long that they stopped questioning if they’re even true.

“I can’t take that shot.”
“I don’t perform in big moments.”
“I struggle against players that are faster/stronger than me.”

Even if it’s never been said out loud, but just a subtle belief they’ve lowkey always had. Those aren’t facts. They’re stories. And they cost you more than any bad workout ever could.

False stories stopping you from believing you’re gonna make that shot that you’ve spent hours and hours working on in the gym. Crazy

I dont fault them because rarely anybody ever tells them to look there. But this is one of the biggest ways you can develop true confidence in yourself.

💡 Sit down with yourself, no distractions, and just write out all of those thoughts you have when you play that may hold you back. Then shred the paper and commit to thinking completely differently about yourself and your game. Move differently.

You can’t think or remain the same and expect different results.

If the work hasn’t been working like you’ve hoped, the change you might really need is with how you think about yourself. 🔒📈
