There’s a lot people don’t see when they come to a live event.

For this Words Tell recap, we caught up with @e_m1x in the control room while he was engineering the show in real time. While the artists were performing, he was locked in behind the scenes, making sure the sound, levels and energy all landed properly in the room.

The video brings together moments from the performances, interviews and the conversations happening around the event #including @manzavelli speaking on his purpose in life and what keeps him grounded.

That’s what Words Tell is about. The music, the message, the people, and everything that happens between.

Thank you to every artist who shared their talent on the night:

@mykimusic
@lunar.echoesmusic
@Genieeinnabottle
@Gesellemusic
@jazmynking
@rayrayvela
@timeforde79

Shout out to @e_m1x for bringing the event together, @manzavelli for hosting, and everyone who supported, filmed, photographed, interviewed, attended, volunteered or helped make the night what it was.

More Words Tell moments soon.

Writer’s block can stop even the most creative minds in their tracks.

Before taking to the stage at Words Tell, we caught up with @Genieeinnabottle @wordstell_uk to talk about how she worked through those moments, as well as what it’s like performing towards the end of the night.

Then she stepped up and completely captivated the room.

With soulful vocals, honesty, and a performance that stayed with us long after the final note, Geniee delivered one of our favourite sets of the evening. ✨

🎥 Check out some highlights from our conversation and performance.

Third time performing at Words Tell, and it’s been great seeing @mykimusic @wordstell_uk continue to grow with every visit.

This time, we caught up with him to talk about the artists currently on his playlist, what he connects with in their music, and the creative breakthrough that’s been inspiring his recent work.

One of the things we enjoy most is checking back in with artists over time, hearing how their perspectives evolve, what’s influencing them, and where their journey is taking them next.

Here are a few snippets from our conversation with Myki. 🎤✨

Who’s currently inspiring your creativity?

Some people follow the path that’s expected of them. Others follow the path that calls them.

We caught up with Lunar Echoes @wordstell_uk (@lunar.echoesmusic) to talk about what it feels like being the first artist to step onto the stage, the unique sound she’s creating, and the decision to pursue her passion even when it meant stepping away from career studies.

Her journey is a reminder that sometimes the biggest leap you can take is trusting yourself and pursuing what you truly love.

We loved her energy, her honesty, and the confidence she brings to her music. Definitely an artist to keep an eye on.

Check out some moments from our conversation and let us know, have you ever chosen passion over the path people expected you to take?

The experiences we live often become the stories we tell.

We caught up with @Gesellemusic @wordstell_uk and spoke about a recent light bulb moment, drawing inspiration from personal experiences, and the moments that quietly shape creativity.

In these snippets from our conversation, she shares some honest reflections on where inspiration comes from and how life can influence the art we create.

What’s been your most recent light bulb moment? 💡

We caught up with @jazmynking @wordstell_uk for a quick check-in since our last interview. 🎙️✨

A lot can happen between conversations, so we wanted to hear what she’s been working on and what she’s learned along the way.

We spoke about what she’s been up to lately, and a recent light bulb moment that changed the way she looks at things. 💡

Sometimes it’s not a major event that changes everything, just one thought, one conversation, or one realisation that makes things click.

Tap in and hear what she had to say.

“Staying authentic” sounds simple...

Until the world starts telling you who to be.

🎤 We caught up with @rayrayvela @wordstell_uk to talk about authenticity, creativity, and staying true to yourself while finding your own path.

A few moments from our conversation.

What does staying authentic mean to you?

What shapes the person behind the words?

We caught up with @timforde79 @wordstell_uk for a conversation about identity, creativity, and what success truly means.

As a spoken word artist, his craft is built on honesty, reflection, and the power of language and this discussion was no different.

Take a moment to listen.

Then tell us:
What does success look like to you?

A little throwback to the start of May when I had the chance to perform with Words Tell 🎶

This is my cover of Love Letter by Mulaa Jones, from a night I’ll genuinely remember for a long time.

Huge thank you to @e_m1x and the whole Words Tell team for the opportunity. From start to finish, they created such a welcoming and supportive space for artists, and it was a pleasure to be part of it. Everyone was treated with so much care and respect, and you could really feel the love they have for what they do.

I loved every second of the experience.

Grateful for the opportunity, the platform, and everyone who came out and listened ❤️

I had the pleasure and honour of watching my sister of more than a decade become a married woman to an absolute champion of a man. You have been a guide, a sister a therapist all in one and I am forever grateful to you for saving my life numerous times. You’ve found your person and the love you have for each other was on full display on an amazing day. May God bless your union abundantly and thank you for facilitating an incredible day and a reunion of the GCA squad 💙💙

17 [ @alexanderiwobi ] teams up with Fido [ @mrfidooooo ] on “Joanna,” a smooth Afrobeats record built on melody, emotion, and laid back vibes. With warm instrumentals and soft rhythmic production, the song captures a relaxed expression of love and admiration.

Both artists deliver effortless performances that blend perfectly, making “Joanna” a catchy, feel good tune driven by chemistry, simplicity, and soulful Afrobeat energy.
