“An invoice is more than an invoice. There are New Yorkers receiving services because of it.” As a Contract Manager, Mir ensures that MOCJ’s providers have a clear mission, along with whatever they need to do their work. She’s there to make sure that the business operations behind that mission are running smoothly. Mir’s business acumen is reflected in the tremendous success of programs like Next Mile NYC, which creates employment opportunities for justice-involved New Yorkers, and the Abusive Partner Intervention Program, which helps break cycles of abusive behavior in relationships. Like many of her colleagues on the finance side, Mir feels very connected to the outcomes of MOCJ-funded programs. Whether the result is that someone receives a job offer or completes a program, that New Yorker’s achievement never goes uncelebrated by the whole team. #HumansOfMOCJ

More than lashes—opening doors to new possibilities! 💕✨ A heartfelt thank-you to Shadez of Beauty by Rita for providing our youth with an engaging Introduction to Lashing class! Through hands-on practice, our young people explored the tools of the trade, the importance of sanitation, and career and entrepreneurship opportunities in the beauty industry. 🌟 Vocational experiences like this give youth the opportunity to discover their interests, build confidence, and connect what they learn to future career possibilities. Thank you, Sherita, for sharing your time, talent, and professional knowledge, and for encouraging our youth to imagine what’s possible for their futures! 💕 #YouthEmpowerment #CareerExploration #VocationalEducation #HandsOnLearning #FutureEntrepreneurs ShadezOfBeautyByRita

In 2025, a total of 10,629 children were reported missing to police across New York State – 94% were reported as runaways. For over 140 years, FCA has operated Nassau Haven, Nassau County’s only 24/7 emergency shelter for runaway and homeless youth. FCA recently collaborated with our fellow providers on the Long Island Missing Child Rescue Operation. Over 100 professionals and 40 organizations joined forces on the three-day operation to locate 34 children and teens reported missing and connect them with relevant services. In addition to our emergency shelter, FCA offers case management, mental health resources, educational and vocational assistance, and clinical interventions designed to support runaway youth as they re-build their lives. We are proud to stand together with our fellow service providers to bring children to safety. Thank you to @nysdcjs , @childrenandfamilyservices , @ncptf , and @nyspolice for leading this important initiative and our partners Child Advocacy Center of Nassau County, @eacnet , @keybridgesmiles , and Nassau County Department of Social Services.  #WeAreFCA
