Spring in NYC is unmatched and the girly vibes were through the roof for this adorable paint and sip class 🌷🌸✨💅

Last year one of our dearest friends @eahmed abandoned usssss and moved out of nyc - so we had to throw her the girliest send off (followed by brunch at Sarabeth and an nyc theme hamper to remember us ofc!)

Some of my favorite memories from the past 12 months 🤍

I ended the year feeling rather drained, a little deflated for not accomplishing what I hoped I would & generally just a tad bit lonely, missing my family back in London. But while I didn’t make as much progress on some growth goals as I had hoped, looking back at photos from the year reminded me of what truly matters.

Life isn’t necessarily about how much we achieve but about the joy we find in the small, everyday moments with the people we love. The cuddles, the laughter, the quiet moments of connection with each other & with God; those are the memories that carry us through and the blessings we’ll hold closest as we continue to move through this life.

That said, I still have dreams I want to nurture this year - creative goals to explore, skills to learn, and milestones to help Noor reach. But as I step into the new year, instead of focusing on what’s missing in my life, I’m choosing to start by breathing in gratitude for the year that’s passed & all that I already have; health, faith, family and safety & security that so many around the world don’t have.

Here’s to a year of balancing growth with grace, ambition with appreciation, and having trust in the plan that God has written for us in these next 12 months inshallah. And with that, bring on twenty twenty thriveeeeee! Bismillah 🥰#yearendreview #goodbye2024 #hello2025

When I first moved to New York in 2018, I used to feel sad on Eid. I missed my family, my friends and my childhood traditions. Despite the hustle and bustle of the city, Eid felt lonely. Fast forward 6 years and I’ve been blessed with members of my family finding their way to New York City, a little family of my own, and festivities that have become our very own traditions. Alhamdulillah. I love a New York City Eid, there’s nothing quite like it. Thankful to Allah for the blessings of family, friendship, health & safety. Allahumabarik.

All praise & thanks be to Allah, the Most Gracious and the most Merciful for allowing us to live and experience another Ramadan in good health. May the habits we picked up on during this past month stay with us and better us throughout the year. Ameen. 🤲🏼

May we continue to use our time, our health, our youth and our freedoms towards good, and goodness only. Towards bettering ourselves and our communities. Towards caring for those in need. Towards loving one another and spreading peace. And, as always, towards striving for justice and a free P@lestine. 🍉 Today we continue to pray for the people of G@za, the people of Sudan, the people of Congo.

When it comes to bringing joy into family gatherings the elders often get left out. I wanted to bring that joy back.
As my mom gets older I’m starting to realize the gravity of how short life is and creating strong memories together is what will keep us connected. We got our entire khandaan together and did this paint party!

It was so so heartwarming to see my mom hold a paintbrush. Sit in front door. And be super engaged with the teacher and following instructions to the T and asking questions along the way.

Seeing grown men in our family draw and hold a paintbrush like they once did a child brought out the inner child in them. We also realized they are some of the best artists!!!!

I hope this encourages you try to create memories with your family outside the box. Especially with the elders 💕

Zakariya hosted his very first Eid brunch 🌸🌷 #EidDay3

➡️ swipe to see Zakariya with his big cousin Noor on Eid! 🥹Seeing Zak and Nunu together makes my heart melt. Everyone in the room was smiling SO wide when we sat them down next to each other! They’re 5 months apart in age, and I’m just so excited to watch them grow up together inshallah, allahuma barik 🤍

Hosting a 13 person brunch (+ 5 babies!!) with a newborn was ambitious to say the least! But Eid has always been my most favourite time of the year and I was SO happy to have hosted some of my closest friends (most of who are far from their families) in our new place! Nothing got damaged and no one got hurt - so that is a huge win in my books!

Thankful to have experienced another Ramadan, and pray that God continues to bless our families and friends with health and happiness this coming year. Ameen. 🤲🏻
