Putting @taketipple to the test at @tasteofdublin with our Tipple Tribe💛✨

We kicked things off with a fabulous champagne brunch in Jean Gorge at The Leinster where not only were the drinks flowing, but the Tipple was too!

We then headed over to experience all that Taste had to offer with the promise of a hangover free tomorrow ahead of us, thanks to @taketipple 🌻

Outrageous fun ✅
No hangover? ✅

Have you Tippled yet?

A year before the local elections, back in 2023, I emailed Dublin City Council about opening a mobile sauna on the Northside. They never replied to me 😂

At the time, I wanted to put a mobile sauna between The Slip and the Bull Wall. I even went down with a tape measure to check the width of the barriers and figure out how narrow I’d have to build it😂

Fast forward a few years and I’ve had a huge number of people who’ve contacted me asking the same question and people who want to get a license to open one.

“Why can’t we have more public saunas in Dublin?”

The demand is there.

The sea swimmers are there.

The health benefits are obvious.

And yet we’re still moving too slowly.

Over recent months Cllr Kevin Breen and I have been engaging with Dublin City Council about the need for more community infrastructure across the Northside, including public toliets , public saunas , more public gym infrastructure and playgrounds. I would like to Thank DCC teams as we have been taking a step in the right direction 🤝

A few weeks ago I spoke to Q102 and FM104 about this issue, and thanks to the team at Helios Saunas who invited us out to experience their floating sauna in Dún Laoghaire Harbour.

I also contacted Fingal County Council to see how they’re approaching public saunas. They told me they successfully ran a pilot scheme in three locations and are now creating a dedicated licensing category for mobile saunas.

If Fingal can make it work , Dublin City Council can too and we look forward to seeing more of them 🤝🔥

I’d love to see more public saunas opened across the city, especially on the Northside swimming areas.

Would you use a public sauna if there was one at Clontarf, Howth maybe a trial run on Dollymount or Bull Island? 👇 Let us know what you think.

Two years ago today, Go raibh míle maith agaibh ❤️ I was elected to Dublin City Council and it was my first time ever at a count centre ( I had go home take off the Hawaiian shirt and put on a proper shirt🤣)

Looking back I’m still filled with gratitude for you all. The support I received from my family, friends, volunteers, supporters, and everyone who put their trust in me made it possible.

I still remember the emotion of election day and I’m especially thinking today of those who were part of that journey and are unfortunately no longer with us ❤️but will never be forgotten.

The last two years have brought plenty of highs and lows 🤣, but it is and has been a privilege to serve and to work on behalf of you every day.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. I don’t take it for granted and I’ll continue to do my very best everyday.

Táim fíorbhuíoch ❤️
