I was quite surprised when Akila told me about this Post Punk and Industrial museum out on the Southside. I had no idea that it would be a 3.5 hour hang with Chris Connelly and Martin Atkins, complete with free liquor & stories that tugged at our heartstrings and our life expectancy. Yes, even hearing about these tales of excess and touring, took years off of our lives!!! it’s amazing that there are any survivors at all, nestled in an nondescript house on the Southside, walking into the postpunk and industrial Museum invokes memories walking into Wax Trax, the record store on Lincoln Avenue. It was hard to not shed a tear listening to these guys hold court with stories about Steve Albini, Bill Riffkin, Sinead O’Connor,Uncle Al, Levi, the TG gang, Nobby from Broken Bones, Capitan Sensible, Rollins, John Lydon, Jah Wobble, Jaz Coleman, Mayor of Chicago Joe Kelly, Charlie from the UK Subs and so much more. Chris’s acoustic serenade made it all the more special. 6° of separation
Is very real in the Chicago music world. The roots that tie together These genres that seem separate actually interconnected like mycelium. Dude absolute explains why I like to float around between all of the different worlds. ♥️My guy Akila, who hipped me to this little slice of Chicago is a co-founder of our beloved graffiti crew UE as ALIE ONE UEMF. He also runs a small label called @eargasmicrec with the homies. He made a mix that you can link to from my frunchroom. It has his newest re-editl of the SSPS track “Paradise Lozt” that was originally released on wax @lostsoulenterprises as LSE VARIOUS ARTISTS # 015. If you’re into wax, you can find it online. Please listen to this mix because there are some exclusive tracks that you won’t be able to hear any place else in the world. 🤟🏿 #chicago #mylindoftown #indusrtrialmusicforindustrialpeople #postpunkindustrialmuseum #finitribe #brianbrain #ministry #revoltingcocks #cockshire #beernuts

Let me not bore y'all with an overly poetic description of a party experience using dozens of unconvincing five dollar words. SIMPLY.. Bring ya ass out! Dammit!

The man, the myth, the hat and yes of course the legend! Taken on 10/2/2022 w/ @catz_n_dogz at the wheel. Most fun party I’ve been to in a decade or more.
