Dear International Community,

Thank you so much for supporting the Borneo Fires and Haze Crisis Fundraising Campaign. Your love, generosity, and support give us strength to keep going through this difficult time.

As many of you know, I launched this fundraiser in August, hoping to raise enough money to support emergency response efforts. I thought the crisis would be over within a few weeks. However, this is now the third month, and the crisis is far from over.

We have watched fires consume the forests of our homeland, burning through the trees that sustain life. We have been forced to breathe toxic air, with PM2.5 concentrations reported at levels equivalent to smoking more than 100 cigarettes a day. We have witnessed the devastating loss of life among babies, elders, women, firefighters, and animals in this human-caused ecological disaster.

On top of everything, government pressure and censorship have made it increasingly difficult to bring international attention to what is happening here.

This is more than an emergency. This is a humanitarian crisis.

Therefore, I will continue running this fundraising campaign as we work to close the funding gap. The needs on the ground remain immense. Emergency relief efforts and long-term post-crisis recovery cannot wait, yet we are running out of time.

I know many of you have already given so much, and we are deeply grateful. If you are unable to donate, please help us by sharing this message with your friends, family, colleagues, and wider networks.

Be our echo. Help amplify our voices when they are being silenced. Let the world hear what is happening in Borneo.

Thank you for standing with us, for caring about our homeland, and for reminding us that we are not alone in this fight.

With love and deepest gratitude,

On behalf of Earthcodes, Ranu Welum, and the Dayak community,

EMMANUELA SHINTA

These volunteers and firefighters in Kalimantan have been working tirelessly for 4 months. From cities to most remote villages, they have been extinguishing thousands of fire spots, protecting the communities and saving the remain forests. We have been providing them with equipments, safety gears, medical and logistic support since August.

This is where your donation goes. There are over 200 firefighters in Central and West Kalimantan that we have been supporting. In collaboration with @earthcodesgaia and support from international community, @emmanuelashinta has been able to raise fund for Borneo’s fires and Haze crisis that focus on firefighting, evacuating people to safe space, monitoring and reporting air quality. However, for now we are still in the state of emergency. Once the crisis is over, we still need to do relief effort which will focus on health impact and post-crisis recovery.

Thank you for your love and support!

Long-lasting haze not only threatens health but also slowly paralyzes life.

Education has been disrupted, preventing students from maximizing their learning. The incomes of workers and merchants have dropped, while their savings continue to dwindle as they struggle to survive. Even farmers live in fear, as fires could consume their livelihoods at any moment.

Amid this crisis, the people of Kalimantan are not only struggling to stay healthy but also to maintain their livelihoods. Even in their own homes, they may not feel safe.

Help us set up more Haze Shelters and support communities affected by the haze, because Kalimantan is still struggling. CLICK THE LINK in our bio to donate to Kalimantan 🤍

Thank you to @wallytham, @bigredbuttonsg, and our friends from Singapore who have been greatly helping the movement in Kalimantan. Thank you also to the donors, partners, volunteers, and everyone involved in creating safe spaces for the people of Kalimantan.

Greetings from Kalimantan ❤️‍🩹

UPDATE KALIMANTAN FIRES & HAZE EMERGENCY RESPONSE: Per October 16, 2026

Thank you to @wallytham, @bigredbuttonsg, and our friends from Singapore who have been greatly helping our efforts in Kalimantan over the past 10 years. Thank you also to our donors, partners, and everyone who has taken part in supporting the needs of Haze Shelters, as well as the 200+ volunteer firefighters working tirelessly day and night for Kalimantan. Thanks to the support we’ve received, various supplies have been distributed, ranging from air purifiers, nebulizers, and masks to water pumps, PPE, and other firefighting equipment.

However, this fight is not over yet. For more than three months, the people of Kalimantan have been living amid raging fires and toxic haze, with pollution levels equivalent to smoking 100 cigarettes a day. Many babies have died. Therefore, we aim to build 10 new Haze Shelter’s within the next two weeks so that more people in the affected areas have access to safer air to breathe.

We still need your support to maintain Haze Shelters that are currently operating, reach more people, and assist the volunteers who continue to fight on the field. Help Kalimantan face this crisis. CLICK THE LINK in our bio to donate to Kalimantan 🤍

Thank you for being part of this movement.
Greetings from Kalimantan 🌳❤️‍🩹

Persistent coughing that causes vomiting, even pneumonia that threatens their health. For families living amid the haze, this is a reality they must face. This is a constant concern for mothers.

For mothers, seeing their children fall ill is never easy. As the air they breathe grows increasingly unhealthy, concerns for the health of their children and families continue to haunt them.

They try their best to keep their families healthy, but how much longer must they endure living in these conditions?

Let’s continue to stand with the people of Kalimantan.

Thank you for your generosity. It gives us strength to stay alive and keep fighting for this beautiful place we call home, Kalimantan.

Today air is still hazardous. Fires are still raging. This island still looks like gas chamber and people are still suffocating. We are running out of time but we are still doing everything we can to save remain forest and protect people.

UPDATE ON FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN | Per Today, we have donated 200 million IDR to help Borneo’s Fire and Haze Crisis. Your donation went directly and immediately to people who are at the frontlines battling the raging fires. Your gift has supported over 150 volunteers firefighters and helped building 23 haze shelters in Kalimantan, saving hundreds of lives from dying by poisonous air.

We are forever grateful for your generosity. While the money has been very useful, there is still huge need on the ground. Therefore we still need your help to reach the target of 20k USD by the end of this month. We are at 13,5k now and STILL NEED 6,5k USD to reach the goal.

The fires are burning very fast. In hours, hundreds of hectares of forest disappear. Please share this URGENT message with friends, family, colleagues, networks, and anyone willing to help save the Borneo rainforest and support the Dayak communities guarding it. THANK YOU!
