The hardest part of building isn’t the hustle. It’s doing the work and having no idea if it’s working.

Peter Frelinghuysen, co-founder of @earthcups , shares how challenging it was to go from the structure of college to building a business without clear goals, accountability, or immediate results.

Sometimes, you put in the work today and won't see the impact for months or even years.

Not all progress is immediately visible.

“At the end of the day, it’s really you who controls your life and controls your decisions.”

Peter and Misha both had finance jobs lined up after Williams. A safe, stable path ahead of them.

They chose to bet on each other and build @earthcups instead.

The noise never really stops. Learning to quiet it and go full steam ahead is key to building a life that feels like your own.

Just because something has always been done a certain way doesn’t mean it has to stay that way.

In our conversation with @pfrelinghuysen19 and @mishavitels of @earthcups , we talked about questioning the status quo, making decisions when there’s no clear path, and learning to trust the process before you can see the results.

One reminder that stuck with us: “At the end of the day, it’s really you who controls your life and controls your decisions.”

A conversation about building something of your own — and figuring out what that looks like along the way.

What happens when you build a business with your best friend while figuring out who you are along the way?

Peter Frelinghuysen and Misha Medvedev, co-founders of @earthcups , started creating sustainable alternatives to everyday products in college. Today, their products are used by businesses and venues like Madison Square Garden, American Airlines, LifeTime, our local favorites like @flourbakeryandcafe @ciscobrewers and @tattebakery .

In this CORE Convo, they reflect on taking risks before feeling ready, growing alongside something you've built, and what success really means.

Full conversation live tomorrow.

Disposable cups are a problem. Misha Vitels and Peter Frelinghuysen are building the answer.

What started as a frustration with wasteful cups is now Earthcups, a custom, compostable cup platform used by brands and stadiums. And the momentum is real: their parent company, Earth Brands, just closed a $10M round led by VistaPrint.
Sustainability should feel simple, fast, and guilt-free.
