Beautiful memories from @earthone_world in Mexico. From people using AI to decode whale communication, to those building housing for refugees and sustainable cities in Asia, to conversations on #spirituality and #psychedelics for human flourishing.

It reminded me how wide human curiosity can go, and how many different ways there are to improve the world. We are at a turning point in human history. Things are moving faster than ever, and with AI in the picture, the future feels almost impossible to predict. Being in a place like this gave me a sense of hope and curiosity for what’s ahead, and made me even more excited to keep exploring this strange adventure we call life.

One of the richest gatherings I’ve been part of. I left inspired and more committed to the path I’m on. Big thanks to @nachson_ , @ryan.laver , @rosienova & all the others in the team for this opportunity.

Water Day in every UP Game is a celebration of community, belonging, and shared purpose.

For the Planetary Intelligence UP Game in Baja Mexico on began Water Monday at @hotelelganzo , gathering over breakfast before coming together for the Water Team activation by the pool. After a collective watsu birthing and affirmation experience we boarded 3 boats and journeyed into the adventure to commune with whales. We journeyed along the stunning Baja coastline where the Pacific meets the Sea of Cortez.

And as the sun set, we returned to El Ganzo for a community dinner and celebration to close the day.

A full cycle, lived together once more. Thank you @earthone_world for your cocreation!

When we've spent our days operating from the left side of the brain quite intensely, we often need an intentional shift to support us to rest in our creative core. It somewhat helps us to open to new possibilities and ways of being...and what magic might emerge from this space, I wonder?

Before we enjoyed our giveascrap supper in the sandy lugga against the majestic Matthews range, we took a moment to collectively pause, centre, contemplate.

Smells
Sounds
Feelings
Tastes

Our senses awakened. Reminded of where we were. And, why we chose to gather...

A journey of entanglement. For @earthone_world

This Give a Scrap supper gathered friends of @earthone_world and @to.org_ at @sarara on Samburu land.

The invitation was to taste interconnection with every course - use the “bruised and wonky,” the peels, stems, rinds, unusual cuts - and let joy, not doom, lead the learning. We cooked with @groveandmeadow ancient grains and gentle craft - stone-milling, soaking, fermenting - so flavour could unfold without rush or waste. Each dish carried a line of relationship.

Soil, plants, animals - even the unseen microbes - shaped what reached our plates, because we don’t sit apart from nature; we are nature, entangled with generations, communities, ecologies. The aim was to feel interbeing in our bodies, to taste how nothing in nature is wasted and how tradition becomes innovation when we listen.

“You do not end with your skin… You are generations, communities, you are ecologies” ~ @norabateson

One of the most inspiring parts of my trip was traveling to @sarara in central Kenya on 850,000 acres of conservation land, stewarded and co owned by the local community, the Samburu people.

I’ve been hearing about Sarara for years from my dear friends @Elliot and @Nicole, who have invested in and have supported this amazing project for years and now thanks to @earthone_world i went!

The Samburu people are a pastoral indigenous nomadic tribe of with an incredible fashion sense and talent for design, blacksmithing, and beading.

I have traveled around the world in persuit of regenerative cooperative land stewardship models and this is by far one of the most Regeneretive and functional I have yet witnessed. It is evident from the staff, guides, elephant care takers, beaders, blacksmith to the goat herders there is a real sense of ownership, agency and responsibility, which is authentic.
Co-owner of Sarara, Jeremy Bastard’s family arrived to the area 30 years prior and along with his wife @katie.rowe and they have been able to forge a level of deep trust, which is essential in regenerative placemaking.

The Samburu tribe, are majority stakeholders in the safari businesses and operate the reteti elephant sanctuary and Sarara foundation as well as the nomadic montesori school, which was amazing!

So many jobs have been created due to the operations of these businesses and philanthropic initiatives, so everyone is fully aligned for the best outcomes.

80 woman earn a living milking goats to feed the 27 baby elephants 🐘, 650 liters of goats milk per day!

This is Regeneretive placemaking in action and a real live example worth modeling. By honoring the local indigenous traditions and ancient wisdom and by co creating and co designing systems, businesses and initiatives for, with and by the local people, everyone benefits. Nature and wildlife, the locals, the visitors. Win. win. win.

Thank you 🙏 Sarara for the incredible work you are doing! Please follow them and go visit soon!
