The Communication, Film, and Theatre Department at Eastern Connecticut State University is proud to present our next Fall 2026 mainstage production, Syzygy!

A collaborative project directed by Alycia Bright Holland, with musical direction by Okon Hwang, Syzygy brings together sound, movement, and visual arts into one incredible production. Featuring alumni choreographers Charliece Salters, Shatima Cruz, Zoe Czerenda, Chayanne McNeil & Zolah Daley, artwork by Art & Art History Professors Tao Chen and Soojin Kim and performances by student musicians, Syzygy celebrates the unique alignment of the three artistic disciplines, how they respond to one another and the resonances between them. This production also serves as a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Fine Arts Instructional Center, honoring a decade of the arts at Eastern.

Syzygy will be presented in the Fine Arts Instructional Center's Delmonte Bernstein Studio Theater from November 12-15, 2026; November 12 at 7:30PM; November 13 at 5:30PM; and November 14 and 15 at 2:00PM.

Tickets are free for Eastern students; $5 for other students and groups of 10 or more; $10 for senior citizens; $12 for Eastern faculty, staff, alumni, and $20 for the general public.

Tickets for this production are on sale NOW, so get your tickets before they’re gone by visiting the link in our bio!

An Eastern alum is helping bring a potential ALS treatment one step closer to patients. 💙

Marc Freeman ’93 is at the forefront of research into neurological diseases like ALS, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. His team's discoveries have helped advance an experimental drug into human clinical trials focused on ALS. 🧬 🔬

Now one of the nation's leading neurobiologists and a 2026 inductee into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Freeman returned to Eastern to share his journey.

And here's what makes his story even more remarkable: He never took a neuroscience course at Eastern. It was the mentorship of two Eastern professors that helped set his career in motion.

Read more about his research and the Eastern roots behind it on Inside Eastern! 🔗 in bio.
