immeasurable gratitude to everyone who made this concert so special. The performers, the audience, the incredible tech team, the songwriters and arrangers, graphic designers, we could go on and on. It takes a whole village to pull off something so ambitious, with so many moving parts, and so many people. Thanks so much for being a part of ours.

✨absolute magic✨
@jazzeastbigband Saltwater Songbook was without a doubt the most magical musical experience of my whole life thus far.

Sometimes there’s just something in the air, and every player, every technician, every audience member is on the same wavelength and it feels like you’re all creating something together, something much bigger than the sum of our parts.

thank you so much to everyone who was a part of it. I am so proud of all of you and so grateful to be in your presence and make music with you. ❤️ I could write a book about each of you and your talent and your smarts and your general loveliness but instead I will go to bed and just hope I dream about this night so I can live it again. xoxo

What happens when powerful women, big ideas, and beautiful design come together? ✨

This year’s NLOWE Conference was such a special one for us.

After months of planning and collaborating side by side with the NLOWE team, seeing the full vision come to life was incredibly rewarding. From the entry experience, to the stage, the Advisor Magazine Photo Booth, the trade show zones, and all the finishing details like custom floor vinyl and hopscotch moment - every piece was designed to create a feeling.

A feeling of energy.
A feeling of inspiration.
A feeling of women coming together to build, lead, connect, and grow. 🤍

That’s what made this one so meaningful.

It is always a pleasure working with the NLOWE team, and being part of this creative revamp was something we’re truly proud of.

Thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and brought their magic to the room - and a special thank you to NLOWE for trusting Spotlight Events to help bring it all to life.

Here’s to strong women in business, bold ideas, and the power of community.

Brittany Stanley & the Spotlight Events team ✨

✨Graphic Artist Appreciation Post✨
In case it didn’t catch your eye from the poster, we wanted to do a little zoom-in spotlight on this beautiful original art.

Each of our guest soloists have an individual portrait by the amazing Jud Haynes. Gorgeously constructed, then shrunk down and tucked-in on the poster like it’s no big deal. Gotta love that attention to detail, and commitment to the craft. It has really helped commemorate this very special concert and we couldn’t be more thrilled with how all the visuals turned out.

Thank you @mightypops
we love it! ❤️

💥Big Show Announcement💥

🎺 ✨ Saltwater Songbook ✨🎷
featuring jazz orchestra arrangements of original songs by Nico Paulo, Amelia Curran, Valmy, Ana Luisa Ramos, Eastern Owl, Sean Panting, Jodee Richardson, and Evan Smith!

We’ve been working behind the scenes for over a year to develop new music for a special concert and live recording featuring iconic Newfoundland songwriters. We paired them up with local orchestrators to have their original songs developed for our jazz orchestra, and they’ll be joining us live on stage to share them with you! It’s our biggest most ambitious project yet, and the most guest vocalists we’ve ever had on one show! 🎉

Shoutout to our incredible writers for taking on the task of creating these pieces for our 19-piece big band:

Nico Paulo, with arranger Humberto Piccoli
Amelia Curran, with arranger Natasha Blackwood
Jodee Richardson, with arranger Terry Campbell
Evan Smith, with arranger Bill Brennan
Sean Panting, with arranger Gary Johnston
Valmy, with arranger Matthew Roome
Ana Luisa Ramos, with arranger Daniel Bondaczuk
Eastern Owl, with arranger Nicole Hand

Featured artists, in addition to their original songs, will be joining the band for a selection from the Great American Songbook that we all know and love.

A project like this is a labour of love, and we are so excited to share what we’ve created!

🙏Thanks to ArtsNL, MusicNL, Canadian Heritage, and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador for supporting this project.

A sneak peak of us getting ready for our Nov 30 concert, "RISE UP". (Info at the link in our bio!) In this clip, we're rehearsing a new rendition of "Warrior" -- the result of a collaboration between @ladycovewomenschoir and @easternowl07 , an Indigenous led All Nations Women's Drum group. Eastern Owl members Stacey Howse and Natasha Blackwood added chant to the original composition by Kim Baryluk, who says that her song has found a worthy resting place with this new setting.
