So proud of all the hard work that brought you to this point! Congratulations 🍾 🥊

$I have been dreading this post 💔😢 After months of laser focus, training 6 days/week, fundraising, and intense mental preparation for my first fight, I have sustained multiple rib fractures that will prevent me from participating in this year’s Eastside Rumble💔 This fight was an important personal goal fuelled by a series of challenging events last year. I hoped to fight in honour of Dr. Marko Yurkovich, our incredible clinic owner and medical director who we lost to colorectal cancer last year. Marko was the inspiration and source of courage behind every hesitation about stepping into the ring, and I so badly wanted to do this in his honour. I will be honest, I was devastated when I learned I couldn’t fight. But the beauty about hardship is the resilience and growth that comes after the pain and suffering. At the end of the day, this setback is temporary. I have my health, and should eventually be able to train and fight again, and for that I am so thankful. I am also grateful for this journey, which connected me with so many amazing people and such an inspiring community of fighters. If not for the hell that was last year, I know my outlook on the situation would be very different, and for the first time, I can genuinely feel the post-traumatic growth happening in real time. I want to sincerely thank everybody who donated to my campaign and attended my fundraiser. We raised $3,644 for Eastside, nearly DOUBLE the original goal. These funds will directly support our community and allow many the opportunity to participate in an incredibly transformative and empowering sport, and join the same amazing community of fighters. I cannot thank you enough for your contributions. Lastly, a particularly special thank you to the coaches who refused to let me fight when it became clear I was seriously injured, despite my tantrums and relentless attempts to convince you otherwise😅It took a LOT to knock some sense into me and I did not make it easy😬 I may not be stepping into the ring this year, but this experience has already given me more than I ever imagined, and has changed me in all the ways I hoped it would. See you next year 🥊$
