What good is knowledge if you keep it all for yourself? So grateful for the opportunity to partner with @fujifilmx_au and the @nbl to deliver a workshop about how I like to shoot athlete portraits, and why I feel shooting on Fujifilm’s large format GFX sensors gives me an advantage.

Thanks to everyone who came along, and a huge shout out to Adrian for being our tech expert on the day, @eastsidelighting for jumping in and working as lighting tech for all the attendees, and @jordan__coles for shooting BTS video.

Can’t wait to do it again💚 #greenblooded

Babe I’m lost … at sea 🌊 🇮🇪☘️🇦🇺

Filming an underwater music video for the first time ever in the Eastern Suburbs of SYD this weekend

The reason I chose this location is because my next release is about Irish living abroad & missing home.

No better place to film than Coogee beach & surrounding areas.

It was a massive learning & great experience for me. Definitely hard than it looks, but I will 100% for it again haha.

Come back Fri 25th Sep to listen and watch “Out on the Road”

Thanks to the amazing @monique_babette & @eastsidelighting for their help ! Was a fabulous day

@fujifilmx_au 🤝 @nbl Workshop

Last week, I had the privilege to be invited to a workshop hosted by incredibly talented @_tollywood . Sam discussed lighting set ups, processes, approaches to directing athletes amongst other topics and his love to using the Fujifilm large format system.

The session was also joined by Nick from @eastsidelighting who also provided valuable insight to lighting set ups and his history with photography.

Sam’s work, both in sports and media photos, has been an inspiration to me, particularly in the media photos space. To be on set and watch him work with NBL stars, my mind went into full processing mode - I am a silent visual learner (picture the Zach Galifianakis from the hangover - that was me).

Also I got to use Fuji’s flagship camera the GFX100sii. I personally loved the feel of the camera and the system wasn’t too foreign as I own a X100VI. The primes lenses were amazing as I expected, but I foolishly kept the 85mm prime on when I went to take some shots, when the shorter length was probably best for what I wanted to do. 😂

I want to thank Sam, Nick, Fuji and the NBL for giving me an opportunity to come down for the session! The appreciation can be hard for me to put into words, but I am more than ready to adapt some of these learning into what I do already. Try and fail, learn and improve, deliver, repeat!

P.S. It was also awesome to meet some new peep, some I know from conversations through Insta, and some familiar faces who I have meet during my journey! 🙌🏼

A @_tollywood Masterclass 🤝🏻

I’ve admired Sam’s work since I’ve picked up a camera. It was a pleasure to learn from the man himself today!
