This was a #HOSTED stay that I will never forget!

The staff at Juniper Preserve are incredibly kind and helpful. They made it hard to want to check out.

If you’re headed to Central Oregon this place is a must visit!

The mountain views here are stunning, the food at @eatatiris was delicious & the amount of activities are endless. I cannot wait to go back!

This year started off a little heavy for us. (Anyone else?!)

So when @juniperpreserve reached out to see if we were interested in a staycation, we said yes right away! (hosted)

🧖🏼‍♀️ I got a signature facial at the spa. (& reminded myself that I need more facials in my life!)

🔥 Then did a little sauna session. My 3rd in one week — I’m on a roll!

🧘🏻‍♀️Took a morning yoga class.

💧Swam in the (heated) pool and soaked in the hot tub with views of the Three Sisters Mountains. (They even left out goggles, pool noodles & a baby floaty for the girls!) It’s slow season right now, so we had the entire pool to ourselves.

🚲 We biked on the property’s trails. Yes, I insisted that we run home to get our bikes 😅 (the beauty of a staycation!) They have rentals on the property, but we wanted our child seats.

🍤 Ate 2 wonderful dinners at @eatatiris 💕 I loved the scallops, the short rib, and the skillet pizza.

🫶🏼 And just spent a lot of quality family time in our 3-bedroom rental (which was so spacious and comfy for all of us.

🥰 We allowed ourselves to feel like visitors in the place we live. Which is so underrated btw.

🥹 oh, and Juniper told everyone that would listen that it was HER hotel and she loved seeing her name everywhere!

This was our first staycation and it definitely won’t be our last, because we felt so refreshed after a weekend away… or, I guess I should say, a weekend at HOME.

My first two years in Bend have been about settling in and doing what I love most here … eating out, finding my places, and getting to know this town one table at a time.

Now it feels like time to look outward.

I’m from Portland and have lived in Oregon most of my life, but so much of Central Oregon is still new to me. We were in Upstate New York from 2018 to 2024 for my husband’s work, and our younger daughter was born there, which means I’m experiencing many of these places for the first time with my own young family.

I’m not especially outdoorsy, so a lot of what’s on this list are true firsts. Some are newer concepts, others are places I only remember from childhood, all of them feel worth slowing down for. I want to experience them with my husband and the girls, turning ideas into real days, small trips, and memories we’ll carry forward.

This year, I also want to get out more with my film camera, documenting these moments as we go.

I’ve spent the last two years settling in.
Now it’s time to explore outward.

If you’re looking for a cozy local getaway this holiday season, this is your sign 😌🌲

We stayed at the lovely @juniperpreserve last month and are already planning our next trip back. Juniper Lodge is tucked just 30 minutes north of Bend. The moment you turn down the private road to their property and see the mountains in the distance, it feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere in the best way possible.

The entire property is so peaceful and quaint, yet still has every amenity we could ask for (pool, sauna, golf, spa, restaurants, etc.). We took full advantage of the onsite services, including many meals (and room service) from their restaurant, @eatatiris. Their seasonal menu highlights locally sourced ingredients and really enhances the whole experience, the service and team here are amazing as well.

They’re hosting a few special dining experiences in December, so it’s the perfect time to book a little trip. Central Oregon in the off-season is truly our favorite!

The perfect fall getaway at @juniperpreserve 🍂🌲

We love visiting Central Oregon in the fall, and this trip might’ve been our favorite yet. It was our first time staying at @juniperpreserve and we were truly blown away!

The property is stunning, with mountain views right from your room, and there were so many amenities: two award winning golf courses (@pronghornclub), full spa, heated pool and sauna, bikes, pickleball, and some of the best meals we’ve had at @eatatiris restaurant. They even have a 60,000-year-old lava tube on property, which you can explore on a guided cave tour!

Everything felt peaceful, thoughtfully, and the service was incredible.

Only about 3 hours from Portland, in between Bend and Redmond, they have both hotel rooms and vacation rentals which makes this resort perfect for a couples trip or a family vacation. We tried as much as we could and are already excited to go back and tick off some of the things we missed!
