August over already?! ☀️
🏡 Family in town, all-you-can-eat dinners, cookouts with friends, exploring trails, studying, working, and squeezing in running whenever the schedule allowed 🗓️
👩🏻‍⚕️ Professionally, this month gave me a lot to think about 🧠
💉 Interventional pain management was especially rewarding. There’s something incredibly meaningful about helping someone who has been living with chronic pain for months or years. It gives someone sleep, peace, work, mobility, activities of daily living… pieces of their life back! ❤️‍🩹
👀 And now I’m starting ophthalmology, where I’m getting to see a completely different kind of impact: being able to directly improve someone’s vision and eyesight. Working with an organ so small medically can make such a huge difference in someone’s everyday life ❤️
🩺 Residency is also teaching me that balance won’t look the same every month. Some months have more room for the rest of life 🤩

TL; DR - I am so grateful August had a little bit of everything despite still being very busy 💕 #residency #family #friends #runner #doctor

the only 5 food spots that matter at UF. Gainesvilles other GOOD options would require a 10 minute car ride past midtown and downtown to reach. If you want to stay near the University of Florida for the best gator options, these are your places.

This is how you do outdoor dining in Florida. 🙌🏽
Custom motorized screens bringing year-round outdoor enjoyment. If you haven’t been to El Indio yet, this is your sign!

First food stop in San Diego: This has been a family favorite for nearly 20 years. First time for our friends & it was a win! 🌮🌮

Please don't take us to @eatelindio

I brought my mom and what fun! World Cup ⚽️ , full bar, so much good food.

El Indio is always a treat but they really made this Jonesville location special!

On June 8th, 2019 I threw away almost two years of sobriety. June 9th I hauled my a$$ to a meeting and stood up in front a room full of people who had no idea that I was drinking again.

June 9th, 2026, 7 years. I almost forgot what today was. There’s been ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade any of it for another drink.

El Indio (13th St) Chicken Nachos (sour cream on the side)

7/10
these were part of a takeout order so my rating does take into account the fact that they sat squished in their container for 15 minutes. I would say that didn’t affect the rating, but honestly the chips were still sooo crispy when we got home so it actually added to their rating.
I do have to say that they lost a point because I feel like if the container were slightly larger it would have been better. Amount of nachos was not the problem but they were so squished in the container that the toppings kind of melded together :/
Overall great flavor and we enjoyed them :) staff was also very nice

Snaps from April 2025. From helping to choose paint colors for the exterior of the Gainesville Lodge (we suggested they go dark turquoise!), to photographing our Liquid Springs project (which ended up getting picked up by @dominomag) to being in the midpoint of construction on @eatelindio and our Palmer House…we stayed busy and had a lot of fun 😊😊

Evolve is a school that serves students with unique learning needs, where we combine special education and ABA therapy to support the whole child academically, socially, and behaviorally. Everything we do is centered around helping our students grow, gain independence, and truly thrive. This event is a reflection of that mission. We believe diversity should not only be acknowledged, but celebrated.

This festival is about bringing cultures together, creating meaningful experiences for our students, and giving them opportunities to explore the world around them in a joyful and engaging way.

Thank you to your amazing vendors for showing up and sharing your talents, your culture, and your passion with us. And to our families, friends, and guests and thank you for being here and for continuing to support our students and our vision.

RENDERING VS REALITY: El Indio Edition

These were the renderings.

The built space looks almost exactly the same. Not because everything went perfectly, but because the decisions were clear from the start.

Materials, color, layout, lighting — all working together early on.

That’s the goal. Not endless options. A direction you can actually follow through on.

If you want that kind of clarity before anything gets built, start with a Design Day. Link in bio.
