@kellyripa, Thank you so much for the epic book recommendation:
“𝙰𝚗𝚒𝚖𝚊𝚕” 𝚋𝚢 𝙻𝚒𝚜𝚊 𝚃𝚊𝚍𝚍𝚎𝚘 (𝙾𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚟𝚒𝚎𝚠 𝚒𝚗 𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚖𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚜)

I’m tagging a few of you, my voracious reader friends, in the hopes you will give it a go.

Why not borrow it from your local library or buy from a local book store (I am a @perfectbooksottawa supporter here in Ottawa)?

For my fellow ADHD friends?
Please know that not being able to read a book is VERY much our thing.
It will likely take me a long time to finish this.
You can also get an audio copy.
That is reading too.

PS A big thank you to @john_wemekamp and @auntiefigi for making sure I finally got the book, which I ordered on December 1. And then Covid struck…

A friend is waiting in line right now. It is not super-busy. There are 25 people inside and he is number 15 to get inside.

The pop-up BOOSTER - #moderna vaccination 💉 clinic at Rideau High School is open until 4 p.m. today.

What does incredible kindness look like? It looks like this!
I wanted to say an enormous “Thank you” et “Merci” to those of you who played a part in buying these $25,000 in @shoppersdrugmart and @loblawson gift cards.

It means so much to us that you take the time to read my MANY posts and appeals for help. You are all being pulled in so many directions this year - and asked to support so many critically important charities. The fact you chose to support ours is not lost on us.

Being able to make this FIRST large purchase of $25,000-$25 gift cards has allowed us to meet the holiday party / gift distribution deadlines of close to 40 local shelters & community agencies.

And it gets us one BIG step closer to ensuring this holiday season thousands of unsheltered or precariously housed women in Ottawa feel as special as we know them to be.

We still have a log way to go to our goal of delivering to close to 100 locations, so if you have not given, please consider doing so. EVERY dollar counts.

Thank you.

In 2019, we were able to donate Shoeboxes to hundreds of Black Indigenous People/Women of Colour (BIPOC) (BIWOC) #BIPOC #BIWOC living at/using the services of close to 10 BIPOC shelters/community agencies.

Sadly, when it comes to holiday giving, BIPOC locations - and the clients at them - are often overlooked.

This year, more than ever, we want to change that. Please donate what you can to ensure BIWOC feel the love and respect of our community. And that they understand how much care about them.

If you would like to make a donation and have it directed to a BIWOC shelter or community agency, please message me.

Sincerely,

Tara

Thank you for all who have donated so generously. Because of you we are just $30,000 away from our goal.

And remain hopeful we can do this.

If you have not yet joined our “3’s a crowd(FUNDING) and have $3 to spare, please think about going on line to donate (🔗in bio).

Thank you,

Tara

When purchasing your gift cards, please consider this reality and think about buying a @loblawson gift card. Without food security there can be no racial justice.

Our goal is to raise enough money 💰 to:
💳 buy a $25 gift card for each of the over 3,000 women living at or using the services of our local shelters & community agencies - close to 100 locations!

ALL of our giving is ONLINE this year.

Here is how you can donate:

📱💳 Create a Virtual Shoebox 🎁

📱💳Make a cash donation to the Ottawa chapter 💰

If you live in Ottawa, please consider ordering dinner from “Erling’s Variety” @erlings_variety this Sunday, March 22. There is even a #vegan option! Woo hoo! Let’s all try to support Liam and enjoy someone else’s cooking for a change. 🍽
