Sharing a meal with Lucas on his beachfront.
I know for a fact that everyone who comes across Lucas’s story is immediately inspired and blown away. His story is remarkable and one that should be told constantly.
Lucas is a visually impaired farmer who climbs coconut trees and supplies coconuts to @cpl_group_png Stop N Shop. He managed to do this and raise enough money to put all his children through school. He managed to build his family home along with a trade store so he’s family can maintain another source of income. Stories like this need to be told to the rest of PNG.
Work hard AND don’t be jealous of the work you didn’t do. Im forever inspired by Lucas and his family and will continue to share his story.

Brown River, Iomari village, Central Province.
The @eatsmartcampaign set up on the banks of the river. Menu consisted of catfish kebabs and sweet corn. The sweet corn from these grounds is next level. Supplied directly to @cpl_group_png by our farmer Max.
This is corn country.
I’ve been told the catfish grow to a decent size in these waters as well.
Something very comforting cooking produce form the area its sourced from. In addition, even more so comforting is the fact that we get to tell the stories of our farmers. It’s important consumers know where their produce comes from. 🌽

Unbelievable amount of power in these animals. Yes I freaked out but apparently they can sense the emotions of the rider, so the aim is to be calm and in control. Amazing animals.

Love everything about outdoor fire cooking. The peace, nature, the ruggedness, the bugs, the rustic “not so perfect caramelize” cooking.
It breaks down a lot of barriers/rules/ methods. Outdoor cooking has a tendency to harness simplicity. Ego goes out the window. Fire cooking emphasizes flavor more then anything else. restaurants have so many rules and rightly so.
Out here the only thing that matters is flavor and heat. Kinda puts cooking in general, back into reality. For me anyway.

Making burgers in Markham Valley.
The backdrop is amazing. Such a vast beautiful area of PNG.
We rocked up, lit a small fire and started cooking burgers. Bystanders got an awesome feed.

Outdoor cooking in PNG❤️💪🏽

This country has so much to offer in terms of agriculture and tourism.
Here’s an interesting scenario I was discussing with partners the other day….
‘what if PNG didn’t have any natural resources such as oil, gas, gold. If we were forced to embrace and push the tourism sector. Other countries such as Fiji, Philippines for eg rely on tourism as their main industry. What if?’
for me tourism gets placed on the back burner, simply because we have other resources to focus our attention on. I wonder how successful we would be if we focused on the tourism aspect just as much as we did on oil and gas?
Amazing potential never the less,,, but we all know this right? Law and order issues aside ofc
