best Wummer ever!!

This summer has truly been such a gift! I have found joy in so many new things! But most of all, I have so much gratitude for the memories I made and the people I have met.

To my wonderful campers: You truly are so amazing! You guys have taught me so much about myself and were so encouraging. It was wonderful getting to watch you grow throughout the time we shared together. God is so intentional and has placed you here for a reason. I cannot wait to see where your journey here at Baylor takes you!

To my fellow leaders: I cannot begin to express the gratitude that I have for you all. I have felt nothing but support and love this summer. The hesitation I experienced coming to camp this summer was so swiftly washed away by the comfort that I was given by you guys. I have loved getting to pour into you guys and have appreciated even more what true love and friendship can mean. I thank God every day that He chose to bless me with people as resilient and kind and generous as you are. As Aristotle defines it, you are my Good friends. Thank you for being my Soul Friends. Best summer of my Life.

This post is long overdue, but I’ve been dreading making it because i really don’t want to say goodbye to what was, but I am so thankful for what it’s become.

To my campers - I love y’all so much! I am so beyond thankful that all of you ended up in my group. It has made me beyond happy seeing each one of you grow, challenge each other and thrive together. I know that God has such huge plans for each and every one of you, and I am beyond expectant of what you will become. Always remember that you have a Home at Baylor, a Father through our God, and a Friend in Me.🙃🤍

To O+BLC (Prostaff too) - (I’m so sorry I couldn’t tag all 60 of you) I am truly blessed to be able to call each and every one of you my friends. After this summer, you each have became much more than that. This family that I have found in the O + BLC community has been unlike anything I have ever had. For the way you have challenged me, brought me closer to God, loved me, and seen me for who I am, thank you. Each and every one of you. For making this summer something that I will remember for the rest of my life, and I truly hope that we can share these memories and good times together forever.🤍

a small glimpse into my summer as a line camp leader!!

TYJ FOR LETTING ME FIND MY PEOPLE HERE AT BAYLOR!! so blessed to have worked alongside so many amazing leaders this summer, each one of them is so intentional! they are such a light to be around! they have shown me how to love like Jesus, to be faithful even when times are hard and to give grace to others! thankful for how God answered my prayers by blessing me with 23 new best friends to do life with! And to my Baylor baddies, Barden bellas, Abella’s angels, Bella and a beat, and Abella’s beatboxers what an incredible joy it was to lead yall this summer as you find your home here at Baylor! I loved getting to know each of you and how joyful, faithful and loving you all are!! I can’t wait for all that Baylor has in store for you, and to support you through it all! so grateful for all the memories we made this summer!! I have so much love for line camp, these leaders and my groups!! Baylor line camp you will always have a special place in my heart!🐻💚

“howdy ya’ll! my name is gracie horger and i’m a sophomore secondary education major concentrating in elar, and i’m from charleston, sc! baylor became my home when i walked through the columns at independence”

in all seriousness though, baylor did genuinely become my home at line camp. as a scared little incoming freshman coming from a TINY all girl’s high school, i was terrified that i had made the wrong decision in choosing baylor. that was until, i went to line camp, met @bailey._.madison05 , and my small group! (shout out where’s brock?!) i loved line camp, and at the end of the week, i immediately felt called by God to serve as an O+BLC leader.

all of fall semester, i prayed and prayed that God would allow me to have this opportunity. little did i know, he would also answer my prayers of expanding my baylor family. i was beyond blessed to serve with a team of 23 other leaders, SLT, and pro staff who all became close family to me. being an out of state student who’s never spent that much time away from home, i was nervous, but excited to see what God had in store for me. he placed some of my new best friends in my life, and he gave me the opportunity to love so much more than i ever realized i could. i have been putting off making this post because i have been unable to find the words to express my gratitude for all of the leaders who i was so blessed to serve with this summer. each one of you has shown me what it means to have family and be good servants of the lord. you have seen me laugh, cry, and complain an absurd amount about cotton candy flavored liquid iv and the lack of decaf beverages everywhere. through it all, you have all been by my side. you’ve seen the good, the bad, and the ugly, and each one of you has shown me grace and love throughout challenge. thank you for making me laugh on days where i felt burdened with uncertainty. thank you for being the 80 to my 20. thank you for sticking around and always believing in me. it has been an honor serving beside all of you, and i love all of you more than you’ll ever know. 💚💛😘

line camp is officially over, but friendship is not!

This summer truly was so transformative. I am so grateful to have found this community when I needed it most. Finding people who are so faithful, loving, supportive, and caring is such a blessing, and when you find people like that, you don’t let them go.

To the late nights in Earle Library, thank you for all of our delusional jokes and conversations that somehow lasted for hours. To the bus rides to Indy, thank you for Kareem. To our Friday debriefs that somehow always consisted of crying, laughing, and reminding each other how loved and appreciated we are, thank you. It was in all of those little moments that friendships turned into family.

You all have challenged me to be a better person, encouraged me when I needed it most, and inspired me to grow deeper in my faith. Thank you for celebrating the good days with me, sitting with me through the tough ones, and constantly pointing me back to Christ. I have laughed harder and cried more this summer than I have in a long time, and so much of that is because of each of you.

I truly believe you all were an answered prayer. God knew exactly what He was doing when He placed us in the same room, on the same bus, and in the same community. Without you all, I genuinely don’t know what this summer would have looked like or where I would be. Thank you for loving me so well and for making this summer one I will never forget.

You are no longer just people I had a class with, you became my family. I can’t wait to continue growing in our faith, our friendships, and all that God has in store for us. I love you all. 🩷
