To be loved is to be changed--

I first joined dance team hoping to fit in more at school. When I found myself wearing sequined tops, holding chrome poms, and twerking in front of the entire school district, I realized I couldn't stand out more. While I've received my fair share of slurs, stereotypes, and general weirdness, I wouldn't change a thing. With the support of my now best friends and especially Coach Simmons, I've found confidence in being myself. I know that's so corny and gives Hallmark movie, but it's true. If there's one thing dance team has taught me, it's to do what you love and worry about the rest later. Thank you for everything dance team.
