Experience is meant to be shared. ⚡

We pass that knowledge forward every day, especially through student shadow days, summer internships, field visits, in-house training sessions, and 1:1s between junior and senior engineers.

15 years of lessons learned, and still passing them on!

We're so proud! ✨

Our researchers have won an Auggie Award for their innovative work, "Be There Without Being There: Humanoid Robot Immersive Telepresence." The group developed a system that integrates a humanoid robot and a remote immersive environment, creating an experience that gives a person the ability to interact as the robot in its location. Amazing!

Congratulations to student researchers Judah Rowe ’23 ’25MS, Liam Abramov, Seniah McField and Megan Bailey, and our faculty Carolina Cruz-Neira and Mohsen Rakhshan!

NEW for Fall 2026 ✨

The new graduate certificate in verification, validation and test, the first of its kind in Florida, prepares industry professionals to fill a skills gap that is in high demand nationally.

“Our industry partners gave us feedback that it was hard to find students who are skilled in this area,” says Associate Professor Mike Borowczak, the coordinator of the graduate certificate program. “It’s one of those cases where we listened to industry and now it’s producing results.”

Offered through @eceucf, the certificate teaches students to ensure that complex hardware and software systems are reliable, robust and accurate for the end user.

"When that clock ticks down to T-10 minutes, everybody’s just waiting. You wait for the automated system to kick in. You hold your breath and watch the clock go down to T-0. Then BOOM, launch happens, and you know it was all worth it."

UCF computer engineering alumnus Elkin Norena '03 '09MBA is the resident management officer for NASA's Space Launch System Program at the Kennedy Space Center, where he has helped launch more than a dozen space shuttle missions. 4 years filled with so much love, tears, late nights, and much, much more 🤍

Graduating with my BS in Electrical Engineering makes me feel so incredibly proud, and grateful for the opportunities UCF gave me.

I feel so fulfilled to have been able to be involved in multiple RSOs, served in numerous leadership positions, made friendships with the MOST incredible people, and even stay active & touch grass every now and then. It has truly been a pleasure. 😌

Thank you UCF for giving me best friends for life, and 4 years I’ll treasure forever. 😽
