We had the esteemed pleasure of being invited to the 3rd Annual Hunger Village Awards Gala.
It was an honor to attend on behalf of Echelon: The Salvation Army’s Young Professional Advisory Board.
This year’s theme was “Together at the table!”
An evening centered around recognizing those who continue to champion the fight against youth hunger and uplift communities in meaningful ways.
Grateful for the opportunity to be in the room, connect with fellow changemakers, and celebrate the work ITAVTFOC (It Takes a Village to feed one child) is doing!
Several community leaders were celebrated and recognized for their tremendous acts of service throughout the city. Among those honored was a man whom many young men look up to and someone for whom I’ve developed an immense level of respect: Taj Murdock, Founder of @menofcouragephl
He captivated the audience with the selflessness of his speech but I was grateful just being there to witness him receive his flowers.
Overall, the presentation, programming, and even the staff demonstrated a commendable commitment to excellence and hospitality!

@relentlessrouse ,Thank-you! For allowing me the privilege of being a part of such an auspicious occasion!

Transformed into a living art piece for a meaningful cause🌹

I was invited to A Table for Tomorrow, hosted by @salarmyphilly and @echelonphilly in support of children facing food insecurity across Greater Philadelphia, and honored to appear both as an immersive model and as Miss Delaware USA.

For the first part of the night, I was back in one of my favorite looks I’ve ever worn, a symbol of Hope by Palestinian designer @ensaamfarraj. Her work gives voice to the humanitarian struggles facing her people, deeply in alignment with the purpose of the evening.

Grateful to stand (literally) for causes that matter🖤

We’re so grateful to stand alongside leaders who are actively addressing an issue that has impacted our community for far too long. Thank you to @cmninaahmad and @phillymayor for your leadership and commitment to combating human trafficking across our city.

We also want to recognize the incredible work of the Philadelphia Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition. Their collaboration continues to strengthen how Philadelphia prevents, identifies, and responds to trafficking, ensuring survivors are supported every step of the way.

We look forward to working alongside @chatterblast and @stopthetraffik as we advance a coordinated, citywide approach to public awareness, training, and survivor-centered response.

Together, we are building a stronger, more responsive Philadelphia where survivors are seen, supported, and empowered.

The holiday season is set to shine a little brighter as The Salvation Army’s Philadelphia Echelon Chapter ( @salarmyphilly ) invites the community to celebrate, connect, and give back at its Red Kettle Holiday Photo Fundraiser. The event will take place on Saturday, December 13 from 2 to 5 p.m. at ProLens Studio in Philadelphia.

Open to families, friends, and young professionals, the event blends festive fun with meaningful impact. Attendees can drop in for professional holiday photos, enjoy complimentary light bites and beverages, and participate in hands-on activities including ornament-making. A curated holiday playlist and cheerful studio décor will help set the seasonal atmosphere. Pets are welcome to join in for photos as well. Tickets to Red Kettle Holiday Photo Fundraiser can be purchased at give.salvationarmy.org/event/epa-greater-philadelphia-echelons-family-holiday-fundraiser/e744415

All proceeds benefit The Salvation Army’s historic Red Kettle Campaign, which has provided essential support to families in need since 1891. Funds raised during the campaign help sustain year-round programs offering food assistance, shelter, emergency relief, and social services across the region.

Hosted by Echelon, The Salvation Army’s national network of young professionals, the event aims to make charitable giving both accessible and community-driven.

“Echelon’s goal is to make philanthropy fun, social, and accessible,” said Crystal Cuevas, PR Chair for The Salvation Army Echelon Board. “The Red Kettle event is about celebrating the joy of giving back — together.”

ProLens Studio has donated the space for the event, ensuring that more of the proceeds directly support families throughout Greater Philadelphia this winter.

With the recent news about the economy, we all could use little guidance during these turbulent times. To get folks going in the right direction, the young professionals group, @echelonphilly , will be hosting a financial literacy happy hour dubbed “Budgeting to Business: Guide to Financial Freedom” on Wednesday May 14th from 5:30-7:30 pm.

This special happy hour event will feature light bites, drinks, as well as executives from JP Morgan Chase that will touch on topics such as:

How to build a budget (that actually sticks)

Investing 101

Navigating finances as a first-time founder or entrepreneur

“This event came about as we brainstormed fresh ways to engage Philly’s young professionals while giving back. We realized we could build a space for meaningful conversations around money—something we all think about but rarely discuss openly. By combining networking, real financial insight, and an opportunity to support the Salvation Army, we’re creating something that’s impactful and fun,” states Shivani Acharya of JP Morgan Chase.

The first of its kind by both organizations, this literacy happy hour aims to help young professionals build wealth. “Whether you’re just starting out or already building wealth, this event is designed to make your fiance feel more approachable, actionable, and empowering. We want people to walk away with clarity, confidence, and community.” – Crystal Cuevas, PR Chair, Echelon Board

As an added benefit to the community. school supplies will be accepted for entry and will go towards supporting The Salvation Army’s back-to-school drive.
