As this year comes to an end, I choose gratitude.
I take a moment to reflect and give thanks, because it would be ungrateful of me not to.

First, I thank God for life, guidance, strength, and the grace that carried me through every season of this year.

Some of the major milestones and achievements I am grateful for this year include:

1. Attending the @echetaworkshop 2025 in Ghana hosted by @kabenny_ & sponsored by @fujifilmme @fujifilmnigeria , an experience that expanded my vision and sharpened my storytelling.

2. Attending the @theabcconference hosted by @gazmadu an experience that expanded my vision and sharpened my storytelling.

3. Won World Photography Day photo contest, hosted by @camerajoint , a moment that reminded me that the work truly speaks.

4. Owning a Fujifilm camera, a long-time dream and a powerful tool that has helped me tell better stories. Thank you @kabenny_ @echetaworkshop
@fujifilmnigeria @fujifilmme for making it possible.

5. Graduating from one of the beet universities (Micheal okpara university of agriculture umudike, Abia state) this year without any academic issues, a huge personal win.

6. Visiting a new country this year, an experience that broadened my perspective and inspired my creativity.

7. Hosting the first-ever art exhibition in my school, @lightsand_frames art exhibition was a milestone I will always cherish.

8. Experiencing a year of breakthrough in my photography journey.

9. Working on meaningful jobs and projects, and being trusted by amazing clients and customers.

Special thanks to @camerajoint and @laptopspaceng for the giveaways and support.

I am deeply thankful for my friends, mentors, collaborators, and clients who showed up for me in different ways.

And to my family and my loved ones thank you for the prayers, encouragement, patience, and love. None of this happened alone.

This year reminded me that God is faithful, people matter, and consistency is never wasted.
I step into the new year grateful, grounded, and hopeful.

Thank You, God. 🤍🙏🏽

Indeed, God did.

A couple of weeks ago, I was opportune to attend the @echetaworkshop in Accra, 2025, and it was an unforgettable experience. I was empowered with this amazing camera from Fujifilm, and it has truly opened a new chapter for me.

Special thanks to @kabenny_, the convener of the Echeta Workshop, for always empowering and creating opportunities for young creatives to grow.
Special thanks to @fujifilmnigeria & @fujifilmme for consistently supporting African creatives with their gear and resources.
And a heartfelt thank you to @richlackey for bringing the camera all the way from Dubai to Nigeria.

To Fujifilm, Kabenny, my family, friends, and everyone at Echeta workshop thank you. I deeply appreciate this opportunity. I promise to use this gear profitably and continue to make you all proud.

Reflecting on an incredible journey to Ghana for the @echetaworkshop 2025 reunion. Our road trip took us across borders - from Lagos through Benin and Togo, finally arriving in beautiful Adenta - @loatad_org. We are deeply grateful to our partners @fujifilmme @fujifilmnigeria for standing by us, and to @camerajoint x @laptopspaceng for their vital contribution to our creative community. It gets better!

Cape Coast Castle, Ghana.

A fortress of whitewashed walls situated on the Atlantic shore. Built by European traders in the 17th century, it served as a grim hub of the transatlantic slave trade, where countless Africans were held in dank dungeons beneath its floors, emerging only in iron chains to board ships bound for distant horrors.

For centuries, local people could approach its gates under no other circumstance, their freedom stolen amid the crash of waves that now echo with resilience.

Today, in stark and profound contrast, the frame brims with life: fishermen in colorful wooden boats dot the turquoise waters, hauling nets teeming with the day’s catch.

This scene stands as a powerful reflection of liberation and progress. What was once a symbol of oppression now overlooks a people who navigate these shores on their own terms, their daily labors a quiet triumph over history’s chains.

Thank you @echetaworkshop for making this trip and visit possible.

Cape Coast Castle, Ghana.

A young child peers out from the car window, eyes wide with innocent wonder, captured within the very vicinity of Cape Coast Castle—sacred ground where his ancestors once stepped only in chains.

This portrait is a quiet triumph, a living emblem of resilience and the long journey from captivity to freedom.

Second frame, the “Door of Return” stands resolute where the “Door of No Return” once sealed fates. What was a final passage into the unknown is now a gateway home, reclaimed through the collective will of a people determined to heal, remember, and rise.

Thank you @echetaworkshop for making this trip and visit possible.

Echeta reminded me why I started telling stories.

Being around other creatives opened something inside me, the conversations, the way everyone just got it without explaining too much. It showed how much we grow when we spend time with people who understand the creative journey.

I’m grateful to the organizers @echetaworkshop @fujifilmme for making it possible, and to everyone who showed up with their art and presence.

Experiences like this remind me that creativity thrives when we come together, not to impress, but to connect.

Behind every success story, there’s a foundation of love, strength, and sacrifice.

These incredible women - my mum, her siblings, and my grandmother in the photo are one of the strongest reasons I am where I am today. Their resilience, unity, and unwavering support inspire me every day.

I have always waited for a day to share this photo, and today is the perfect moment to do so. On this International Women’s Day, I celebrate them and all the women who shape the world with their strength and love.

Together, we rise!
