While Josh and I were on the platform this Commitment Sunday, my sweet friend captured this moment of our children in the front row.

I keep looking at this photo and thinking about all the prayers that have brought us here.

The prayers we’ve prayed over our children. The miracles we’ve begged for. The songs we’ve held in our heart for our church. The seasons we’ve walked into carrying things we didn’t know how to put into words. The people who have known us, loved us, and helped us keep turning toward Jesus.

And somewhere in the middle of all that, we’ve watched our children begin to seek Him for themselves.

As a mother, that undoes me. To see the faith we’ve prayed over their lives become something they choose. To watch them discover that they have a place in the body of Christ, something to offer, and a relationship with the Lord that is their own.

This weekend, our Echoes family stepped into a two-year commitment toward opening our first church home. We came together with a shared willingness to make room for our church body, for families we haven’t met yet, and for generations whose stories are still ahead of them.

This photo gives that commitment a face for me.

I think about the children who will grow up in that home. The prayers that will be whispered there. The families who will walk through those doors weary, hopeful, hurting, or unsure, and find people willing to walk beside them. I think about how much of what we give that will reach lives we may never get to see.

My children are already part of that story. Already responding. Already learning that they, too, can say yes to God.

Echoes has become a place where our family has put down some serious roots. Where we’ve deeply sought the Lord, grown through hard things, and watched faith take root. We’ve grown in community. We walked through fire. And we couldn’t do any of it without the body of believers next to us.

We’re committing to the years ahead with so much gratitude for what He has already done here, and with open hands for what He will do next.

This is our HOME.

Echoes Church (@echoes.church) has bought the former Macy's at Superstition Springs Center for $5 million. The sale turns one of East Mesa's largest vacant retail spaces into the church's future home.

This is a follow-up to July's early-stage possibility: the acquisition is now complete. The property at 6535 E. Southern Ave. covers about 12.9 acres, with a 155,254-square-foot building across three levels and 966 parking spaces.

CRE8 Advisors, which represented the buyer, said a multi-million-dollar remodel has begun. The goal is to open the new church in late 2028 while keeping Echoes Church's existing headquarters operations on East Hampton Avenue.

Echoes Church (@echoes.church) bought the former Macy’s at Superstition Springs Center for $5 million, according to a Sept. 30 report. The empty anchor is at 6535 E. Southern Ave.

The three-story building totals 154,646 square feet. The purchase included $2 million in financing from the Wesleyan Investment Foundation.

Echoes Church was founded in 2023 and currently holds Sunday services at Desert Ridge High School. The church has not announced an opening date for the former Macy’s building.
