It was nice to host the good people from @echonotredame to the pub. Enjoyed the music of @jake_from_starheart. Echo’s mission is to train the next generation of theologically educated and pastorally creative lay leaders to pass on the beauty and truth of the Catholic faith. It is a superb program!

In Echo, you will ask essential questions . . . questions that probe not just what you will do with your life, but the person you will become.

We are looking to form innovative Catholic leaders — not only people who will serve the Church formally, but men and women who will take what they’ve learned and lead in medicine, law, publishing, counseling, and social work!

Inquire now and apply by January 20.

The McGrath Institute for Church Life's transformative Echo Graduate Service Program is looking for its next cohort of inspiring lay leaders to creatively pass on the beauty and truth of the Catholic faith.

Echo’s dynamic group of 60 young adults engage in some of the most pressing issues facing the Church today as catechetical leaders in parishes, and theology teachers in Catholic schools across 15 dioceses in the United States. In partnership with the University of Notre Dame’s world-renowned Department of Theology, Echo students earn a tuition-free M.A. in Theology during the summers while they live in community and serve the Church during the year. Echo students receive additional financial support as well as robust formation in Christian discipleship, communal living, and pastoral leadership.

Know of someone who might make a good candidate? Nominate them at the link in our bio or send them this post as a message. Echo’s application deadline is January 20, 2026.

New #SEEK25 @focuscatholic post!

Clockwise from top-left:

1. I am a huge Cy Kellett fan! @catholicanswers played a huge role in my preparation for the diaconate. Such a humble guy, and very gracious as I fangirled.

2. Scott Boyle is the Director of Recruitment and Student Outreach at the McGrath Institute, Notre Dame. He works with the @echonotredame program. I've enjoyed sending students his way and finally got to put a face to the name.

3. Fr. David Hammond is a priest with the @milarchusa. I have had the pleasure of welcoming him at @universityofdallas . Great to catch up with him!

4. Shannon Ochoa is the co-founder and vice-president of @edeninvitation , a wonderful ministry and support for me at UD. I am always grateful for her insight and dedication to her ministry.

More to come!
