Tonight’s the night to get yo booty over to The velveteen!

We got the one and only Julia in town for one more weekend :,)

Echo Rose Rising is a singer-songwriter, loop artist, and electric violinist, layering harmonies in real time to create textures that feel intimate yet full. She invites listeners into a space of introspection through emotionally honest lyrics while offering a grounding presence with rich, dreamy melodies. Blending indie, soul, folk, and ambient pop, her music echoes reflective sentiments to open your heart—and shake your ass

The unstoppable force of community done did it again. Bringin’ a whole bunch of weirdos together in the wild to dance becoming my favorite hobby was not on my 2026 bingo card, but here we are. When a friend offered their decommissioned mining claim as a rave location, a seed was planted for me. Instead of using our human existence to extract or ‘drill baby drill’, how can we use it to build and give to each other? The mine doesn’t exist anymore but the gift of human connection does and that feels like the real GOLD.

What a run! Our first shows in Colorado were a blast. We started on Wednesday evening in Seward for @a60north's end of the season party. That was a Rager! Finished up around 11 PM, packed up our gear, drove to Anchorage, repacked our gear for our flight, got to the airport around 3 AM to board our flight at 5 AM. We had an eight hour layover in Portland where we got to see @morgan_a_feelin in the wild 😍 Then we hopped another flight to Denver and arrived around 11 PM. Acquired our Drums from Denver friend, got to bed around 1 AM, back on the road by 8 AM, drove about seven hours to Dolores, immediately set up and soundchecked, then played a packed show with @echoroserising to the wonderful people of Dolores and the surrounding area. That small Mountain town reminded us a lot of Seward. Packed up the gear that night, got a good night sleep and was back on the road by 10 AM to drive to Ouray which is about 2 1/2 hours on the million Dollar highway. Mind blowing drive! We rolled into town, checked into our hotel, and then set up to play a wedding for a couple who met at a BWRR Yukon show back in 2019. CRAZY! It was a perfect evening in a perfect little spot in the mountains of Colorado. We felt grateful to be a part of that celebration. Though, we couldn't celebrate long. We got a few more hours of sleep, woke up and drove roughly 6 more hours back to Denver, found the @denverrollerderby Roller Dome, set up one more time, and played a truly one-of-a-kind show to a small but lovely group of fans and Denver Folk who showed up. It was such a treat to play for everyone as they skated. Delirium kept us from getting too much footage of this show but we will post more about it as we acquire footage lol. We flew home at 8 AM the next morning and got back to Seward around 4 PM Monday afternoon. Typical BWRR work week. So grateful for all of our new Colorado friends! Can't wait for the next opportunity we have to make it down that way. Next up? @valdezbrewingak this Saturday and BURNING MOOSE at @millerslanding this Sunday 🫎🔥

Our friends from the Last Frontier are heading down to party in the desert southwest! This is going to be a PARTYYYY. Don't miss @blackwaterrailroad on the Bike Hostel stage next weekend! @echoroserising will be opening the show at 7pm!

Hailing from Seward, Alaska; Blackwater Railroad Company’s wild energy defies expectations. Bordering bluegrass and saxophone driven roots-rock; the band is inspired by the spirit of the 49th state, where endless daylight leads to boundless joy. Tight three-part harmonies and honky-tonk piano punctuate the endless pulsing dance beats and foot-stomping anthems that have established them as a favorite among mountain folk and wandering souls.

With their large body of recorded work and years of international touring, Blackwater sets themselves apart as stewards of the great northern traditions of hard work, shameless jubilation, and love for the open road. Their new album ‘Caravan’ is set to be released this May. Their first full album since ‘A Lovely Place to Die’ released in 2024, ‘Caravan’ ties together the adventurous spirit of Alaska, the joy of dancing on mountaintops, and the heartache of a life in motion.

“Blackwater is roots rock dance music, playing with old bluegrass and rock’n’roll rhythms to make something entirely new.”
