Last Tuesday I was transported to Spain mentally at least experiencing amazing Flamenco dance and enjoying the Spanish cuisine. The dance was mesmerizing and the tap sounds beats glued me to the rhythm. @salaastorianyc @cindyestrada80 #Tapas #Spanish #food #Flamenco #dance

9 months ago, I was in an elevator going to my first flamenco class at @xianixbarreraflamenco studio. I was sweating and evaluating all of my life choices. Bern looked at me and said, “Relax girl, it’s not like we’re going to Carnegie Hall.” Less than a year later, we found ourselves dancing rumba at none other than the JKO High School Theater on Broadway. It was the first time I felt that flamenco is not just another one of my exposure therapy exercises gone too far, but part of my identity and what I want to do for as long as I can. After 10 years in NYC trying to find my niche, this community welcomed me with wide open arms, making me feel at home. This is the happiest I’ve ever been in New York, and I can’t be more thankful for it. Thank you @xianixbarreraflamenco for all the hard work you put in to keep this thriving community alive, aside from being an amazing dancer, teacher, and badass flamenca. And thank you to all my friends who came to see and share my little Lizzie McGuire moment with me. I can’t wait to keep dancing! 💃🏽
