Episode 1 | Built for five 🖐🏼
Eén atleet. Vijf disciplines.

Dit is nog maar het begin…

WELCOME TO BUILT FOR FIVE! 🔥

With the help of my teammates, Mickey and Jordan, ended world championships with women’s team gold and a dream realized! Twenty-nine years ago, I ventured into the world of pentathlon, and it took this long to hold a gold UIPM medal. Mickey also received her individual bronze at our closing dinner party at the beautiful Blacksmith’s Kitchen in Paarl. We are incredibly blessed (and lucky!) So of course we celebrated with a night out dancing!

Relay is my favorite part of world championship and resilience was word of the day. There’s no one I want to do this with more with than Mickey! We kept our silver streak alive, finishing behind an uncatchable Swiss team, one of whom also works at Roche! And eating our pentathlon lunch after tradition—SAMPA fed us well with hot competition meals like stroganoff and curry! Thank you, Beate Schenkel, for coaching our riding (297 out of 300 points!) in a pinch, giving confidence after my adventure the day before. Horses definitely keep you humble!
