What if time poverty became part of the sustainability conversation?

We measure income.
We measure productivity.
We measure economic growth.

But how often do we measure:

⏳ free time
💚 quality time
👩‍👧‍👦 family time
🌿 time to simply be present

Sustainability is not only about preserving resources for future generations.
It’s also about creating lives that feel sustainable today.

We often talk about sustainable products 🌍

But what about sustainable routines?

The routines that protect our energy, our relationships, our wellbeing and our time.

The Alter-Eco Routine is not about doing more.

It’s about choosing more consciously 🌱

First save this post to come back to later and share it with those who need to hear this♾️

For more than 10 years I’ve been exploring how we can live in a more harmonious relationship with our natural world.

Over time, I could only conclude that if I truly wanted to learn this, I should learn from the world that surrounds me. Looking at how they go about exchanging resources and how to integrate this into my life…

And yes, it took some effort, just like plants need water and nutrients from the soil. Yet, the beauty resides in the rewarding feeling I received of belonging, connection and trust..

And yes, it was scary at times, because it did challenge me to take some leaps of faith..

so to make it a bit easier for you I’m just sharing some of the lessons of how I made it to mastering my mind, how to generate income in different ways and reduce my costs to the minimum so I actually feel like I have the freedom to spend time on the local projects that I care about the most.

Here we go👇
🌀I started going to farmers markets at the end of the day and get the left over deals
🌀 I became creative with things we consider ‘waste’
🌀 I took a deeper look at my expenses and see what I could cut out / decrease by being smarter with purchases
🌀 I started assessing my gifts and expenses according to a multiple value framework and see how to be smarter with non-financial exchanges
🌀 I started practicing energetic/ somatic work to release any emotional blockages and limiting beliefs that withheld me from living into this life my heart dreamed of
🌀I made every step a small challenge for 21 days

& now I’m helping others who have a similar dream by sharing my learnings by launching the stewardship incubator that has all the supportive resources I collected over the years to make this process easier for you!

So when your ready for an abundant life… Comment / dm ‘potential’ and I’ll send you the details!

📱Guest host of the week is Aaron from @grapevine_technology:

My name is Aaron and I'm a co-founder of Grapevine🍇; a social marketplace app for sustainable and ethical product reviews👍, shopping🛒 and information🔍. It's kind of like Instagram meets Amazon for responsible shopping.

My team and I found that many everyday Aussies struggled to know where to shop responsibly, didn't know who to trust for recommendations, and couldn't find information to evaluate product sustainability claims 🤷. They were also starting to shop more frequently through platforms like Insta and TikTok.

So, we're on a mission to create the leading social platform for responsible shopping, where everyone can go to shop, learn and be social about sustainable lifestyles, and make a difference in our world through their purchases 🌏💚

I'd love if you can give our Insta account a follow, or even sign up to our waitlist on our website: grapevine.technology. Any feedback or suggestions about how we could improve the app and better solve problems you face when shopping responsibly is also much appreciated😇

💚 Let's follow each other, like and comment on each other's posts to support the eco community.

Plastic, plastic everywhere, and it’s getting harder to keep it at bay!

Do you have hacks that have helped you keep plastic away from your home and life?

The latest and last @ipcc report released on Monday confirms what we already know. Individual actions do matter in deciding the fate of climate and our planet!

An immediate change in the Lifestyle and Habits (especially by the people living in developed countries) has the potential to “rapidly” cut down emissions by 5%!

On a larger scale, it was found that changing the demand, services, and social aspects could limit emissions from end-use sectors by 40-70% by 2050.

What does that mean? 🤔

As the demand for sustainable lifestyle increases - which includes inculcating a plant-based diet, cutting down on food waste, building sustainable houses and cities, and opting for eco-friendly transport options amongst other things - could be an immediate and long-term solution for climate mitigation.

This decade has been termed the most critical time period if we hope to limit climate change. We are at crossroads, and every one of us has an important role in shaping the future of our world.
