◾️Transgressive Memory Festival 2026☣️

Over the past eight months, I had the chance to develop the visual identity and design system for the Transgressive Memory Festival 2026, commissioned by eCommemoration / Körber-Stiftung.
@ecommemoration @koerberstiftung

The festival approached memory not as a fixed record, but as a contested field shaped by power, interpretation, technology and imagination — asking who gets to narrate the past, which memories become public memory, and how inherited narratives can be challenged and reimagined.

Across the project, I developed the visual language and translated it into a wide range of formats: four posters, flyer, the programme folder, web app, artist communication, countless social media assets, motion applications and more.

It was an eight-month process of building a system that could remain recognisable while constantly shifting across different types of content, scales and media.

The festival took place on 12–13 September 2026 at silent green in Berlin during Berlin Art Week. @silent.green

No tengo imágenes.

it’s been a long and productive summer, hence the slightly less regular social media presence, but there have been some great in-real-life events—including in Geneva, London and Berlin in the past couple of weeks (eg photo 1 at the amazing @ecommemoration festival) and now as the autumn starts to kick in I am delighted to be in the final days of handing over my new book (current status, see photo 2) — watch this space for more details, out in June 2027, I think it’s the best thing I’ve written so far #WorldWarZero

For this edition of our Dinner-Ceremony AŞ at silent green, the dinner unfolded inside an installation of our computer game AŞ.

Around one table, its physical and virtual forms met: handmade food, family recipes, Tatar language, music, images and stories carried through different generations and technologies.

The project began with a question: why is Tatar culture so rarely imagined as part of a technological future?

Rather than treating tradition as something that belongs only to the past, AŞ asks what happens when a ritual continues through new media, new bodies and new forms of gathering.

For one evening, the game became a room, the room became a table, and the table became a shared ritual.

Four days of making AŞ.

Planing, schopping, kneading, rolling, frying, boiling, plating, carrying, washing and lots of improvising.

For this edition of AŞ, we prepared a vegan Tatar dinner for 30+ people: bäleş, AŞ & tokmaç, öçpoçmag & ğöbädiya, qıstibiy, qoş tele, çäk-çäk, talqış käläwä, halva, and more.

AŞ has always been as much about collective labour as about the moment of gathering itself. Recipes and knowledge move between people, hands and generations. The dinner is made through all of these small acts long before the guests arrive.

Grateful to everyone who cooked, chopped, carried, plated, washed, watched babies, solved problems and kept the kitchen moving with us. 🖤

The best part of setting a table is eventually seeing people around it.

Some moments from our AŞ dinner at silent green: eating, talking, laughing, passing plates, taking pictures of food, drinking tea and spending an evening together.

Thank you to everyone who came and shared the table with us. 🤍
