❤️ Homemade Elderberry Elixir ❤️

I would swear on my own life how well this stuff works. Doesn’t even compare with any of the “elderberry” vitamins and supplements you get at the store, which often contain natural flavors and preservatives anyways.

🤧 ANY sign of getting sick - sore/itchy throat, tight chest, cough, congestion, or even just being around sick people I take (1) shot of this before bed and wake up cheeky & healthy the next morning.

🌟Recipe:

-3 cups of fresh picked elderberries (these are often wild bushes randomly growing on land and can only be harvested in August).

-32 ounces (2lb) of local, organic honey

-9 cups of filtered water (really good well water or reverse osmosis)

-1.75 liters of vodka (80 proof, can be the cheap stuff!)

1) Pick off all of the berries into a container. Do not wash (as they should be wild and unsprayed/organic)

2) Bring 6 cups of water with the elderberries to a boil. Cut the heat and simmer on low for 10 minutes.

3) You now have elderberry juice! Let cool completely.

4) In separate pot, bring 3 cups of water and 32 ounces of honey to a boil, letting boil for 5-10 minutes.

5) As it’s still boiling, add the elderberry juice to the pot. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes. You now have elderberry syrup.

6) Making sure you have heat tempered & sanitized jars and lids, carefully ladle the elderberry syrup (including all seeds) *halfway* into each mason jar.

7) Take your bottle of vodka and fill the rest of each mason jar with vodka.

8) Put the lid on, wipe it down, and let each jar sit unmoved for at least 24 hours before moving. Should not be in direct sunlight.

9) Let sit for at least 3 months - the earliest I would open up a jar is around Thanksgiving if making in mid/late August.

10) You now have the best homemade medicine on the planet! One shot of this before bed and you’ll wake up feeling so much better (if already sick) or not sick at all if you think you’re about to be.

The truth is Sunny and I travel A LOT, so with this pregnancy it just felt right to do something for myself before baby #2 arrives.

Sunny and I are going to navigate the new challenges that come with having another child. And now that I’ve already had one, I’m WELL aware of the challenges that lie ahead for myself, specifically.

Going on this retreat was an intentionally selfish decision that Sunny fully supported in every way and I’m so grateful for that. While my extended family may think it’s crazy or unsafe, it’s what my soul needed.

Part 2 - Toxic Free Home Series

💦 Installing our Reverse Osmosis under-sink water filtration system has been one of the most impactful benefits to our health as a family. Go to EWG.org and type in your zip code to see what crap is in your tap water! It’s alarming to say the least. You can get an under sink RO filtration system from Amazon! When drinking RO water be sure to supplement minerals! Unfortunately most of our food is mineral depleted. I use my @ecosys.co Beauty drops to get my daily dose of minerals.🤍

🧻 When I recently heard about how standard toilet paper could be “giving us cancer”, I thought “oh geeze, I can’t even… It’s too much of a headache to be changing my toilet paper!” But I eventually caved and bought this @plant_paper and have actually been really happy with it, mostly knowing that I’m not putting PFAS on my most sensitive areas multiple times a day.

🛏️ 99% of synthetic fabric is sourced and heavily processed from plastic. Just the idea of sleeping in plastic doesn’t resonate. Since switching to natural bedding (sheets mainly), I’ve noticed a huge difference in my sleep quality. My favorite natural material to sleep in is cotton and linen because those have the highest frequencies and will actually help you feel more energized in the morning.

🍓We all know plastic is “bad”. Making the switch to glass tupperware was super easy, I bought a bulk set from Costco!

All in all, I’m WELL aware we can’t live in a 100% toxic free environment, nor do I strive for that. It’s not realistic. This series is to show you the simple changes we’ve made in our home to support our health. Hope you enjoy! 💗

5 wellness practices I do regularly that have changed my life:

👅Tongue scrapping - Go on Amazon right now and buy yourself a copper tongue scrapper! It WILL change your life, you will be disgusted you have never used one before. Trust me.

🥥Oil pulling - I’m generally prone to cavities and oil pulling has improved my oral health tenfold. Just be sure to NOT spit it down the drain. It will clog the sink.

💦Drinking filtered water - We installed a RO water filter in our home and add the Beauty drops by @ecosys.co back in to get all the minerals and electrolytes we need for the day.

🦶☀️Grounding with morning sunlight - reduces information, recharges batteries and balances hormones.

🍳High protein breakfast - leaves blood sugar low and keeps me feeling fuller and more satisfied throughout the day

We’re back! After being of social media 📵 for a while we’re finally ready to get back to sharing our life with you! 🎉

👶🏻 Becoming parents has COMPLETELY changed our lives. Its certainly NOT easy and has required so much sacrifice, patience and love to get through the newborn hump. Get ready to see a lot more BTS of our day to day life as new parents.

🚐 Selling Stella was SO hard but we know she’s been in great hands and we are thrilled she’s off adventuring, which is what she was built for! Our long term dreams is to do part time road life with our family, while still having a home base 🏠. We’re not quite sure when we’ll get our next rig but we’ve narrowed it down to either an airstream or rv. Comment below to let us know which one u prefer!

🌿 Van life completely changed our lives. It essentially brought us back to nature. While we were living on the road I (Luna) was busy building our new business
