ESA Abroad✈️🌎

Nora studied abroad with @ecu_tuscany in Fall 2024. Here’s what she had to say about being in ESA in a different country:

“I chose to study abroad because it was something I had always dreamed of doing ever since I was a little kid. I spent the fall 2024 semester studying in the beautiful Tuscan hills through the ECU Italy Intensives program! My experience abroad truly changed my perspective on the world and led me to appreciate the little things in life a whole lot more. I enjoyed getting to immerse myself in new cultures and connect with all kinds of different people. I was able to continue being a part of ESA while abroad and was technically an inactive sister. Although I was thousands of miles away from Greenville, I stayed in contact with all of my sisters who sent me lots of sweet pictures and messages! Although I was sad to leave Italy, I was so excited to be reunited with my ESA girls! Like all good friendships, it was like no time had passed 🤍”

STUDY ABROAD WITH ALPHA GAM✈️🌤️🏔️⛵️ Let’s hear from Emma about her experience studying abroad this past semester! #AGDoingThings

“Studying abroad was an experience of a lifetime! This spring semester I got to study abroad through the ECU Tuscany program in Italy! While in this program I got to take classes such Book Making and Italian Literature which was such a unique learning experience. I also got to travel all across Italy and take a trip to Switzerland too! Through my study abroad program I made lifelong friendships with other ECU students as well members of other ECU Panhellenic chapters and my little in AGD! I am so thankful for this experience to dive into a different culture, step out of my comfort zone, and make unforgettable memories.” -Emma Rush, PC ‘22

Graduating this semester feels surreal! Reflecting on my undergraduate career studying abroad on the ECU Tuscany program in the fall of 2021 and spring of 2022 was the biggest highlight. The memories I made and the friends I have met are something special that I will always hold close to my heart. Since returning and becoming a Global Ambassador, I have been able to continue stepping out of my comfort zone and apply my newfound skills here on campus! I have become more confident in public speaking and have made new connections with students by sharing my story and the benefits to studying abroad in classrooms and various events hosted by the Office of Global Affairs. As I prepare for graduate school here at ECU in the School of Communication, I know that becoming a global ambassador has given me the support to be successful in my education and whatever field I decide to pursue. When I flew home from Italy, I was so sad to imagine my experience of a lifetime being over. However, I have learned that the lessons you learn while studying abroad don’t stop after the trip ends. It provides a foundation to continue the transformation of new perspectives in the world around us and through presenting opportunities to explore and continue growing.

Congrats to our graduating #ECUGlobalAmbassador Addison! #ECU23
