Join us for a live performance and artist talk exploring sound as method, memory, and rhythm —through the practices of Speaker Music (@clinicalpoetics ) and Animistic Beliefs (@animisticbeliefs )

Presented by Notebook + Resonance (@ecugoodmedia )

The evening will begin with an artist discussion joined by Animistic Beliefs and moderated by Vanessa Fajemisin (@bottegavanesa ), Writer, Curator, and a Director of the Black Arts Centre. Together they will explore themes of diasporic memory, sonic philosophy, and radical rhythm.

Following will be a quadraphonic live performance + talkback from Speaker Music aka DeForrest Brown, Jr. , as a continuation of his research on Rhythmanalytics – a live version of the album, “Synoptic Audio” — that was recorded during his residency and research at Libby Leshgold Gallery. The talk back will be moderated by Vanessa Kwan (@vakwan ), Director and Curator of Libby Leshgold Gallery.
