2025 had its ups and downs -
Literally (with climbing mountains in HI, Canada, and Peru!) and emotionally. 🙃

I got to travel to some fun places for work and for fun.

My personal travels checked 2 places off of my bucket list:
Banff/Moraine Lake/Lake Louise and Machu Picchu

And a literal dream came true: speaking at an International Recovery Conference, not once but twice 💚

Charles retired in January, something he was really looking forward to doing. We navigated him being retired and came out stronger. 🙏

We traveled to the DR & Costa Rica celebrating his retirement; and we also visited Portugal. Porto is one of our top 5-10 favorite cities in the world 🌍🌎

I got to experience challenging times throughout the year, and I have to say, despite almost being broken, I always had glimmers of light (friends, family, & faith) that everything would work out exactly as it was supposed to be.

I’m incredibly grateful for my tribe. I can say with 1000% confidence that I deeply understand how social (& spiritual) connections are a pillar in lifestyle medicine.

Thank you to everyone I met this year (continued in comments), to my friends that are family, and to my incredible family.

Wishing you a happy, healthy, and amazingly abundant 2026! LYSM

Jacque 💚

Mayor Andre Dickins(kappa) held a D9 Black History event for fraternities and Sororities and it was well attended. Even though we all wear different colors and different Greek letters, we are all one big happy family.

About last night…

It was awesome having family here to experience Charles’ final flight and last landing. 🫶🫶🫶

If it wasn’t for me and his mom, he would’ve landed and jump sat home on the next MIA flight. 🙄

It was super cool (& emotional) being on the UPS ramp to see his last landing. 🛬 Most airports don’t allow that anymore (for security reasons - we had to do security check-in in order to get onto UPS grounds), but UPS has a great working relationship with SDF. 🙌

Once Capt Charles parked the plane, we got to go into the 747-8. We had to walk up a couple flights of stairs to get up there and once we got on the plane, we had to walk up a ladder-type staircase to get to the cockpit.

It was super cool. 😎

It was great seeing a couple of his pilot friends & a retired UPS friend come by for his last landing.

UPS has been good to us, and they really made his last landing super special and memorable. (We couldn’t do the water cannons bc it was freezing in Louisville 🥶)

Our youngest nephew is interested in flying (he did his first solo fly about a year ago), so I made him jump in on one of the pilot pics (toward the end of the carousel)🤎

Thanks for having us all up for your last landing @cwtarlton - I love you so much and I am so incredibly proud of you!

Today is the day!! Capt Tarlton has his final flight ✈️ & last landing 🛬

I’m so happy for you babes! And I couldn’t be more proud of you!

You’ve worked hard to be where you are! I’m so glad you’re still “young”, healthy, and active and you can enjoy retirement.

I look forward to celebrating you tonight and being by your side in this next chapter of your life!

I know you’re looking forward to this and you don’t want to make a big deal out of it.

But it is a big deal! 🫶🫶

Love you so much! Congratulations on an incredible career!

PS - You can track UPS 224

T minus one month until Charles’ last landing (retirement)

He has two more work trips to fly (would’ve been 3, but he got summoned for Federal Jury Duty so one of his lines he couldn’t fly)

He bid this line so he could visit our nephew who’s living/working in Korea 🫶

He’s been flying for UPS for 30 years and he’s excited for this next chapter.

I couldn’t be more proud of my husband!

May 15, 2024 - today I celebrate twelve years of recovery.

I haven’t had alcohol (or drugs) for 12 years - nights & weekends included.

This is one of my biggest accomplishments in life. It has not always been easy, but I have a solid support system of people that help me in this journey called life.

Sobriety and recovery brought me back to a plant forward diet, which I’m obsessed with for its health benefits.

I find all of the recent literature on reducing or eliminating alcohol from your lifestyle for improved health fascinating.

If you’re struggling with addiction or are curious about cutting back (or quitting) alcohol for health reasons, please reach out to me.

I’m forever grateful to my husband, family, friends, soul sisters, sponsors, & sponsees for being there for me.

Thank you for my life and my recovery!
