Hi everyone! I am @malloryweggemann, and I am excited to be taking over Ed’s account for a few days to share a little more about my journey!

Throughout my career, I have always valued the power of community, seeing firsthand that we are only as good as the people we surround ourselves with. I have seen how community can pull you from your depths, help guide you forward and give you the strength to face whatever season you are in with grace and perseverance.

As a swimmer, it is often seen that I compete in an individual sport, but the truth is, while I am the only one hovering the black line beneath me, I am only able to do so because of the unwavering support of my team and community that surround me.

As I got behind the starting blocks in Tokyo for my first event, I knew that while the stands sat empty, I had the strength of my community at my back, propelling me forward.

That night I won Paralympic Gold after fighting for nearly nine years to make my return to the Paralympic podium. The journey to get there was long, circumstance felt all-consuming at times, but the one thing that never wavered was the remarkable community that surrounded me - the individuals who inspire me to #keepclimbing

Now, here I am 13 years following my paralysis and I am a three-time Paralympian for Team USA, author of LIMITLESS, co-founder of a production company, motivational speaker, wife, dog mom and dreamer - if this journey has taught me anything, it is that our now doesn’t define what’s to come.

What inspires you to #keepclimbing?

At @delta, our mission is to connect the world. But in order to do so, we must also reflect the world. I’m thrilled to celebrate leaders who inspire courage every day.

I’m proud to welcome my friend, @malloryweggemann, to take over my channels for the next few days to share some important messages on her journey, the value of community and the importance of creating an inclusive and equitable environment.

Mallory, my page is all yours.

Our Gaining Altitude series was created to talk about topics that matter to the world, including those considered difficult to discuss.

@porterbraswell is the Co-Founder and CEO @jopwell, and host of the @harvard_business_review Podcast, Race at Work, where he graciously hosted me as a guest this past January (Listen at link in bio).

Next Wednesday, Porter and I will continue our open conversation about race, diversity and authenticity in the workplace. Porter exemplifies @delta’s commitment to equity and inclusion in all aspects of his work. I look forward to listening to and learning from our conversation – and taking action based on that knowledge.

I hope you’ll join us for this conversation from 1-2 p.m. ET on October 27 on Delta.com/GainingAltitude. If you have any questions top of mind for Porter or me, please share them below. #GainingAltitude #Diversity #Inclusivity

Seriously @delta I enjoyed and was surprised to see the healthy snack choices you picked! We would be a great collaboration! Your customers could read my book in-flight, it’s a good short read with life-changing info. #mind #body #spirit Plus, #itsHealthyLiving will build, grow and develop Delta’s company morale. #trustMe #LetsGo #fionachavers #author #LinkInBio #healthISwealth #health #wealth #guidebook
