Car review special🚦! The Golf 3 cabriolet is a car you can still occasionally spot on warm summer days all throughout Europe and America – these were popular models.  In the first 2 years of production alone – the Golf Cabriolet sold over 70 thousand units and continued to be the sales leader in its class. It is a really good car overall with its weak points being the styling and design of the model and occasional roof failures (usually from age related wear and tear). Otherwise – it is a really solid, dependable and reliable cabriolet just like its twin hatchback counterpart. When looking for one – be sure to be mindful of 2 things: Rust and the roof. The lesser the rust – the better the car even if everything else is bad. And the roof – yeah it depends on your luck. A new roof with fitment will cost you anywhere from 500 EUR – 1000 EUR, but it is also sometimes possible to repair your old roof, there are options. If you are looking for a budget cabriolet – look no further. This car really wont give you any headaches unlike some other cheap convertibles – for example the Chrysler Sebring.  Get a clean one and we believe that you’ll be a long-term owner because it is just so easy to get used to and familiar with this car. In Latvia the prices range anywhere from 1500 EUR to 3000 EUR 💶depending on the year and engine of the car. TDI options are very good choices as well! Prices in Germany are similar, but it is easier to get a more original and less rusty example there of course. A really reasonable convertible if you’ve never had one before! 📸by @abeleagnese from @carcool_lv #vw #vwlovers #vwgolf3 #vwgolf3cabrio #cabrio #mk3golf #mk3 #cabriolets #youngtimer #youngtimerslatvia #youngtimers #germancars #germancarsonly #carphotography #carreview #autoapskats

Car review special🚦! This car has been owned by @mk2.moda for less than a year, but the car has been treated well and improved a lot in this short time frame. The owner got a bargain for this car – the previous owner couldn’t easily sell it and he was a young dude who wanted an E36, he got the Golf Cabrio from his family for free, so he basically just wanted to get rid of the car. The Cabriolet was bought in filthy condition with a damaged roof and a nasty exterior and interior. However the main selling point of this car was a very unique trait between Mk3 VW Golf’s. The car is completely rust free! And mechanically everything was in good order as well, so with just a few minor things – this car was still a good and hard to find bargain! During the past few months this Golf received a brand new roof, a basic service, and a quality detail – and the pictures speak for themselves. This car is now in mint condition and it is just lovely to drive. The green color gives the Golf a more noticeable and expensive appearance, the stock BBS wheels compliment the car very well and the 1.8L 90 HP engine has most of the horses still remaining. This engine configuration isn’t anything special – you can ride the car comfortably in the city, but outside of the city – a bit more power would be nice to have. So… Expect the Golf 3 to be a slow old-school cruiser rather than a car you can throw around and get some adrenalin in. We are not fans of Golf Mk3’s. In fact – not many people like this generation of VW’s – but this exact car will change your mind. It’s just so well preserved, original and nice that it is hard to fault it for what it is. We’d say that this is one of those cars that look better in real life than in the pictures!💯💯 📸by @abeleagnese from @carcool_lv #vw #vwlovers #vwgolf3 #vwgolf3cabrio #cabrio #mk3golf #mk3 #cabriolets #youngtimer #youngtimerslatvia #youngtimers #germancars #germancarsonly #carphotography #carreview #autoapskats

Car review special🚦! Let’s take a look at a mint Golf 3 cabriolet provided by @mk2.moda ! The Golf 3 is probably one of the least loved VW Golf generations being judged for its lackluster design and performance, but the cabriolet is a bit more special and more loved than your normal Golf 3. The cabriolet version was released 3 years after the production of the Golf 3 started, the cabriolet was made from 1994 – 2002 and received a facelift in 1998 which is often referred to as the Golf 3.5 because the front of the car was facelifted to look like the new Golf 4 however the back of the car, the body and the interior remained the same as with other Mk3 Golfs. The hatchback and wagon versions of the Golf 3 came with a huge variety of engine options – but the cabriolet received a smaller selection of extra equipment and engine options. Thankfully the pitifully slow 1.4L and 1.6L petrol engines were eliminated from the cabriolet range with the base cabriolet model having a 1.8L 75 HP engine. That being said – unfortunately the more powerful and exotic VR6 options were also not available for the cabriolet… It’s a trade off – but overall the cabriolet received adequate engine options for most drivers. The Golf 3 cabriolet is a very German – very sensible no-nonsense car. The roof is manually operated, the engine is as simple as can be and wont fail you even if you forget to maintain it, the driving position is very comfortable, there is room both in the front and rear, parts are cheap – it’s a great car to own if you don’t mind the dated design of the mk3 Golf and it being quite a slow car. Read more about this exact Golf Cabriolet in our next post!🔜 📸by @abeleagnese from @carcool_lv #vw #vwlovers #vwgolf3 #vwgolf3cabrio #cabrio #mk3golf #mk3 #cabriolets #youngtimer #youngtimerslatvia #youngtimers #germancars #germancarsonly #carphotography #carreview #autoapskats
