10th NATIONAL EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS
Lucas Oil Stadium & Indianapolis Convention Center | Indianapolis, Indiana

17 months of planning. 5 unforgettable days in Indy.

I was hired by the National Eucharistic Congress to raise the bar for what people believed was possible at a Catholic event, bringing a new level of quality to the production and programming. That meant asking tough questions and exploring tough answers.

How can our use of technology preach theology?

The challenge was daunting. We had to figure out how to turn an NFL stadium into a cathedral, a sacred space. At the same time, we needed to be able to flip a switch and transform that same environment into an electric atmosphere rivaling any concert.

We started with a handpicked crew capable of bringing both sides of that vision to life. @up2.live and @sickdesignbro came along for the journey and were instrumental to the success of the event.

From initial concepts and renderings to five days inside Lucas Oil Stadium and the Indianapolis Convention Center, we helped create an extraordinary experience for 60,000 people gathered from around the world.

These photos tell a little of that story. The design process. The enormous technical undertaking. The countless moving parts. The people behind the scenes. And finally, the moments that reminded us why we were doing it all in the first place.

None of it happens without an exceptional team. I had the privilege of working alongside some incredibly talented people who poured themselves into making this vision a reality. I'm enormously proud of what we accomplished together.

The lights eventually came up. The stadium emptied. The stage came apart.

But I believe what happened in Indianapolis will echo across the Catholic Church for generations.

10 years ago I was laid off from Transworld Motocross, and to be honest, it was one of the most difficult times off my life. I had a newborn, and my monthly income was just gone. I spent a few nights crying and praying because I had no idea what to do to support my family. I had a couple of jobs that I started to entertain, but nothing that really made me feel like “this is it.”

I remember sitting in the kitchen one night with my wife and she told me, “You always said you wanted to do your own thing, and we’re in a position where I can float us for a bit.” That night, Powell Digital Media was born.

I wish I could say that the next 10 years was all sunshine and rainbows, but that’s far from the truth. There were many bumps and bruises along the way, and many hard lessons that I had to learn from. But there were also plenty of good times and good people I crossed paths with along the way that has kept this dream alive. My mom will always say that I was stubborn, hard headed, and liked to do things my own way - and I think that’s a reason why I didn’t give up on myself, when my bank account suggested I probably should do something else.

To the people in my corner, thank you. Thank you for keeping me afloat when I was on the verge of drowning, and being the support when I needed it.

10 years is quite the accomplishment that I’m extremely proud of. It’s been a wild ride, but we ain’t done yet ❤️

Really grateful for the opportunity to work on this project in partnership with Kingdom Story Company. Globe Life Field was a big undertaking with a lot of moving pieces, and I’m incredibly thankful for the crew that came together to make it happen.

One of my favorite parts of this work is getting to bring really talented people together and watch everyone do what they do best. Proud of this team and grateful for every person who put in the hours to make this one happen.
