A quick look at the essentials we use when we take Teddy on a walk!

The @helpemup harness is an absolute lifesaver with a paralyzed dog, especially a big one like Teddy.

The @maximus_rollerskater skates have helped Teddy be able to use his legs in his wheelchair and have really propelled his spinal walking movements.

Today was another big milestone for our Frankie! He officially got fitted for his very own set of wheels from @eddieswheels !

We got to test out a pair today, and he wasn’t exactly ready for the open road. He was a little hesitant and spent most of his time going in reverse, but he eventually figured out how to take a few steps forward!

His very own wheels should be here in a few weeks. If there’s one thing Frankie has taught me through all of this, it’s that life doesn’t always go as planned, and that’s okay.

We’re still holding on to hope that he’ll regain movement in his back legs, but we’re not going to put his life on hold while we wait. He deserves to be outside, exploring, getting into trouble, and doing all the things he loved before this happened.

I don’t know exactly what the future holds for him, but I do know we’re going to make the absolute best of it. Knowing Frankie, once he figures out how to work these things, we’re all in trouble 🤍

Hi friends! I’m Blake, a 4 year old goofy, happy, lovable rescue pup!

In May 2026 I went from zoomies in the yard to completely paralyzed back legs due to a grade 5 IVDD slip disc and needed and emergency spinal surgery. The vets said I’d likely never walk again and pushed my pawrents to put me down😡
They said NO WAY!! Giving up on me was never an option 🙅‍♀️

Now I’m working hard in everyday to beat the odds every single day💪🏻

Most people think of IVDD as a small dog problem, but big dogs get it too. I’m here to show that a big dog with grade 5 IVDD can survive and thrive with a full, happy, silly life.

On this page I’ll share my progress, my proudest moments, and all the tips and tricks my pawrents have learned to help me adjust to my new normal.
