PURPOSE. Man… this summer was truly a summer of pure growth. I had the opportunity to go to Oxford and study in BADA’s Midsummer in Oxford program, and honestly…it was EVERYTHING. I got to meet, create with, eat with, laugh with, and perform alongside some incredibly talented artists. I came into this program ready to learn, but I left feeling challenged, changed, and inspired in ways I didn’t even know I needed. FAM. One of the biggest highlights for me was writing and doing a staged reading of my brand-new play, “Rockin’ Chair.” Somehow, I wrote the last 47 pages in ONE DAY. I still don’t know how that happened 😂 Being able to hear my words come to life and watch an audience connect with the story and feel every word was something I’ll never forget. I’m excited to bring it to Howard for a reading as well! 🤝🏾 Ay! Ay! Shaw Shawties ‘26🫰🏽❤️ Some very talented people coming to your screens and stages soon! Be on the lookout 💯 To the entire faculty of BADA, thank you for your support, your love, your encouragement, and for pushing me to grow. I’m incredibly grateful for this experience and for everyone who became a part of my journey this summer.❤️ @bada_online

Thank you to all the players! No transformation happens in isolation, just like a theater act, it asks for witnesses. I’m endlessly grateful for these humans, and for everyone who offered a moment, a smile, a presence, a small kindness that shaped what this summer became.

BADA was so many things 🌸 I’m coming out feeling bloomed with confidence and so grateful for everyone who made it possible for me to take this time to lock in and level up. An experience and a training full of movement, motivation, energy, self knowledge, personalities, quiet walks alone, walks with friends, Macbeth, Walter, spiritually aligned moves, drama, growth, connection, discovery, presence, crows, gems from elders, surviving drought, knocking down barriers, new friends, artists raising the bar, excellence, and gratitude.

This venture, meant to find joy in the bard. Unike Odysseus's odyssey, Joy was found, the journey left me unscarred. Along the way I found camaraderie. When we first met, I felt apprehension. Could I trust my heart with this newfound crew? With these artists I never felt tension. Our cohort morphed to a family; it's true! Exchanging tales and many beads of sweat. Connecting each day with the grasp of hands. Although such a short time ago we met, The love we found continues to expand Though great distances separate team Kahn, Our souls are linked and never shall be gone!

This year, this year, all these flowers fortell, We shall escape the circle and undo the spell. Often deceived, yet open once again your heart, Quick, quick, quick, quick!- the gates are drawn apart. —C.S. Lewis
