Would you carry a Starbucks cup even if it couldn’t hold coffee?

Starbucks UK turned its familiar cup into The Autumn Charm: a limited-edition leather bag accessory, developed and made by The Robin Collective, with Edelman UK as the agency.

The launch invited fans to win one through an Instagram competition scheduled for October 12–19.

What caught my attention was the design decision: taking something people recognised from their daily routine and making it feel worth keeping.

The cup already carried associations: the morning coffee, the autumn flavours, the small treat between meetings. Turning it into an accessory gave those associations another place to live.

Leather, autumnal colours and gold hardware translated the familiar shape into something designed to sit alongside someone’s personal belongings.

It left me with an interesting branding question:

Does your packaging have enough meaning for someone to carry it when the product is gone?

It’s been a big first year for Edelman Sport. 🎾

To celebrate the one-year anniversary, we brought together people from across sport, brands, media, and culture for the first Edelman Sport Padel Tournament in London.

A little friendly competition was the perfect way to bring the sport community together, both on and off the court.

Loads of you have asked for a room tour of our suite at Sani Asterias, so here we go!
Newly renovated, these rooms are so beautiful - this is a Two Bedroom Grand Residence Private Pool Marina Front.
So fabulous for families. We actually put Caspar’s cot in the wardrobe and Isabella had her own bed.
Dream family set up!

🏛️📊 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗢𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗘𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗧𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗜𝘁𝘀 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁

Public and not-for-profit organisations communicate on some of the most complex issues facing society.

Building trust, changing perceptions, increasing engagement and mobilising support all require more than communication outputs.

They require evidence that shows what changed, who was influenced and how communication contributed to meaningful outcomes.

The 2026 #AMECAwards Most Effective Planning, Research and Evaluation in Government and Not-For-Profit Sectors category recognises organisations demonstrating how measurement, research and evaluation strengthen public-interest communication programmes.

Over the past two years, this category has recognised organisations tackling some of the most complex communication challenges across society.

Gold winners have included Ketchum, Edelman Data & Intelligence, and their partners, while Silver and Bronze recognition has been awarded to organisations including Golin, CARMA, UNICEF, Wellcome, OECD, AARP Advocacy, UNICEPTA, Retriever, Ogilvy, A Data Pro and many more.

From building institutional trust and strengthening advocacy efforts to supporting policy communication, public engagement and societal change, these organisations demonstrate the different ways evidence-led measurement can create value.

Winning work in this category demonstrates more than successful communication.

It shows how research and evaluation informed strategy, measured audience outcomes and helped organisations understand whether their communication achieved its intended purpose.

Whether you are a government organisation, charity, NGO, foundation, public affairs team or agency partner, your work has the opportunity to be benchmarked against leading programmes from around the world.

📅 Entries close 14 August 2026.

The Castle Great Staircase, Scotland was painted by artist Karen Kilimnik in 2007. 🎨
It depicts a grand staircase within a Scottish estate, characterized by Kilimnik’s signature #romantic and sometimes #fantastical #style. 🩵💙💛 The work is part of a series where Kilimnik explores themes of British country houses and romantic imagery. 🖌️ The looseness of the brushwork makes the grandeur feel unstable, like the memory of a place rather than the place itself. ⏳
