The inaugural season of the Toronto Tempo has come to a close!

Thank you to my fellow dancers and to @jadejagerclark for making history as Toronto Tempo’s first ever Rhythm Section Dance Team. Thank you to the game day staff from whom I learned so much and who made these incredible, record-breaking games possible. Thank you to all the venue staff for such a memorable, fun, and safe season for the players, staff, and fans. And thank you to every fan who I threw a T-shirt at, gave me a high five, attended, or watched a game.

I am deeply grateful to have been a small part of Canada’s first WNBA franchise and will truly cherish this experience for the rest of my life. I have made beautiful friendships and incredible memories, and my heart is just so gosh darn full of joy!

Everyone watches women’s sports! LET’S GO TEMPO

time really does fly when you’re having fun 🥹

this post don’t nearly do this season justice. i won’t bore you with repeat photos, the perfect words don’t exist, & the best moments live only in my memories, but this has truly been a life-changing experience & the only word i can think of is BITTERSWEET.

i am heartbroken over the fact that our season has come to a close, but i’m simultaneously eternally grateful for everything this has been.

this was my first big performance job, but it has also been an entire SEASON full of firsts for the entire organization. being part of this historic season at all has been an UNBELIEVABLE opportunity & such an honour.

i have to give a shoutout to my teammates. when we all met, i had a good feeling we’d all get along just fine, but i never could’ve imagined how much (or how quickly) you would feel like family. not only do i get to admire how talented you all are, but getting to know each of you on a more personal level has been so special. i have learned so much from all of you, both in and out of the studio, and i can’t wait to see you all shine in whatever’s next for you. there will never be another First Rhythm Section, & i am so glad that we all got to experience this together.

i also want to thank @jadejagerclark for leading us through this season. putting together an inaugural team is no small feat and we appreciate the time, energy, & vision you poured into building The Rhythm Section & for giving us the opportunity to be part of this.

if anything, this season has been a personal reminder of things i’ve been struggling with: that hard work & discipline in your craft MATTERS, that i really do love this city that helped raise me, & to let yourself be fully present in a moment before it becomes a memory. most importantly, i’m learning to let myself be proud of this thing that i’ve worked so hard for without immediately worrying about what comes next.

to be on Canada’s First WNBA Dance Team has been nothing short of a dream, so thank you for letting me make Toronto Tempo my whole personality for the last 6 months 🫶🏽

Yes I’m a week late but I still had to process all of my feelings. I can’t believe the season is over. It has truly been such an honour to be a part of Tempo’s inaugural season!

As a gay woman, getting to dance for a WNBA team and be part of a space where women and the LGBTQ+ community are so celebrated has made this experience that much more special to me. Getting to show up as myself and do what I love in an environment like this is something I’ll never take for granted.

And finally, my TRS fam. I genuinely don’t even know how to put into words what you guys have come to mean to me. Going into this season I never could’ve imagined walking away with people who feel like family. From all the rehearsals, game days, laughs, long days, stupid moments and everything in between, you guys are what made this experience what it was for me. I feel SOOOO lucky that I got to do this with all of you. I love every single one of you so much, and I’ll forever cherish the memories we made together. You’ve changed my life in more ways than you’ll ever know, and there’s genuinely no group of people I would’ve rather experienced year one with.💜💜
