Dear softball,
It's been hard to put how I feel about you into words. I also still don't really believe this is real...
I tried to get rid of you more times than I can count, I really did. There were times I loved you more than anything and times I wasn't sure if I ever wanted to know you again. Somehow, even on the hardest days, I still kept coming back.
And through all of it, you gave me some of the best memories and some of the best friends I could ever ask for. I am forever indebted to you for the friendships you brought me and for the lessons you taught me (even the hard ones... especially the hard ones)
I'll forever be grateful. I don't think I'll fully ever be able to explain what this game took from me and what it gave right back.
Thank you softball, I sure had fun hanging out with you all this time. 22 years, 18 of them playing this game. A part of me will always belong to you.
To my little ones: when you came to this team, you truly brought life back into it. You brought purpose, and meaning, and so much love. Thank you for reminding me why I fell in love with this game in the first place. Please keep having fun, none of this is worth if it you don't.
To everyone in this post and every teammate I've had: every part of me is made up of little pieces of you. Everything I do and everything I am is for and because of the people who loved every version of me.
Little Onyckah, I hope I made you proud🤍
As @kaileefalconer said, "longtime fan of touching grass and playing in the dirt with my pals"
One day I'll be a really good coach 🤸‍♂️
