Track Theatre Thursdays: Streets of Willow with @socaldriversclub featuring photos from @goner.arw

Besides setting a PB, I had such an amazing time seeing our little cluster of Miatas flood the track. With drivers at all skill levels, from first time track drivers (proud of y’all btw) to seasoned racers, we were ultimately here for a good time and last last weekend was an example of this.

None of this is worth it if you’re not having fun.

Miata Motorsport Mondays: We are so back

By September we thought that temps would drop to okay levels and this weekend proved for that to be a lie. Despite the heat, we managed to have a mostly successful track day.

This time around I got to finally try out the famed combination of Gloc R10 fronts and R8 rears. I found this to be just what this car needs for even later braking. Could I have gotten away with using R8 fronts again? Yes, but every part replacement is an opportunity to try something new, and I can now see why this combination is loved so much.

A personal best was achieved in the first session with a 1:28.8. There’s absolutely more time on the table for my car as is, but with this track I already feel content with this achievement. I take more pride now in being able showcase what this car is capable of to members of our Miata community to inspire them to chase the goals I once did. To pay forward the guidance I received in my formative years of tracking to the next generation of drivers breaking the limits of what these cars are capable of.

Track season is back, and so are we.
