“The continuation of a series of new paintings that pay homage to film noir and the inhabitants of that shadowed, shady world. This one is a little love note from me to Raymond Burr.” —Mel Odom

At Sea View, Mel Odom’s solo exhibition “DREAMS FOR SALE” follows the artist’s singular contributions to queer image-making and storytelling, combining Pre-Raphaelite sensuality with meditations on mortality— all intimately drawn from the same desk of his New York apartment since 1975.

Odom’s works are paired with “Eavesdrop,” 2024 by Charlotte Edey, inspired by a “Tete-a-Tete,” a Victorian S-shaped sofa originally designed for two people to talk privately while observing the action in all directions.
